Just wanted to inject some facts in reference to how “terrible” UND is right now. We are down to our 5th and 6th string MLBs. We are down our top 2 corners. Our all american safety went down last game. 3 starting OL are out. Our starting TE is out. Our starting FB is out. And I’m hearing that more guys are out from the weekend and am just waiting to see the injury report. Basically, the UND team you played no longer exists. Our LBs avg 205lbs right now. Our OL goes FR FR SO JR SO instead of SR SR SO JR SR. At this point, most fans have readjusted expectations from a deep playoff run to just plain competing and finishing a game without another batch of injuries. Don’t use our game results going forward to show what we were made of in the season opener. Maybe at some point, we will get enough guys back to be a shell of the team we started as but that isn’t likely.

For Huntley to really become great he not only just needs more experience but will need to tighten up his mechanics. He basically had an elongated right handed version of Mike Vicks mechanics. His elbow moves around a lot when he throws and that will cause him to miss from time to time. Carson Wentz had the same issue and had to work on that this past offseason. It’s the little things that will make the difference between really good and great.

I see superior athletes in red. Rivalry though. Anyone can win.

In case you guys were curious, NDSU fans think we suck and also think you guys suck. At best you will go .500 this year according to the experts on bisonville.

That EWU offense that you guys now run is a damn buzzsaw. Always has been. You guys are very fortunate to get the Carrington transfer. He will be your x factor this year. Also the new qb you have is slippery. A few of his side arm throws were crazy. That was fun to watch. Your DL was exactly what I had feared. Those young DBs were solid as well. By the end of the year you guys will be very good. You may lose a game here or there due to youth at certain spots but once everyone is seasoned I think you’ve got something. Too bad in FBS there is 0 margin for error to get into the playoff since it’s only 4 teams. I wish we could have scored on that 4th quarter possession to make it an interesting finish instead of throwing that pick. Good luck the rest of the way.

Our offense is not at all like SUU’s for the record. What scares me most is your switch in offensive philosophy. I have had too many bad experiences against teams that pass like crazy and have stud WRs. We’ve been completely torched in the past. Our secondary is as good as it’s been even with the injury to All American CB Harris but I still get nervous for pass happy teams.

On Johannesson
Been told that RB James Johannesson has recovered from his hamstring injury and is ready to go for the Utah game. #FightingHawks

I’ll be watching from my favorite Cajun spot in Grand Forks ND. That’s right, ND has a great Cajun spot.

I agree on this one. That was probably called because of all the holding going on in the game prior to that play. It’s good for you guys though to have your WRs be over zealous in blocking. That’s easier to fix than if they didn’t try hard enough.
