Balanced preview from one of the best CFB analysts out there… his take is 2019 could be pretty special but could also arrive ahead of schedule in 2018… projecting 7-8 wins but wouldn’t be shocked by “double-digit wins”…

Completely agree – USC suffering a lot of key losses that it’s not clear how they’ll replace and I agree with others knocking Helton as a HC… he hasn’t shown yet that he’s all that great. For what it’s worth (which is not much), ESPN’s BPI projects us to win all four remaining games. I’ve seen most of every Stanford game so far, and their offense is pretty uni-dimensional -> give Love the rock. Love is a legit Heisman contender, though, so I don’t see any defense really shutting him down (“You can only hope to CONTAIN him!”) but it will be an interesting strength on strength matchup versus our Run D.

Is there any definitive word yet on whether Shelley is going to redshirt this year? Keeping all of his eligibility intact seems like a no-brainer since either Troy or Bateman can step in this year if needed but will both be gone next year… I know it’s been rumored but I haven’t seen anything definitive on this.
