  • The offense has been putrid most of the year. Ive been on Ludwig since game 2 and everyone always says ‘oh, its the injuries, he’s our best OC under whit.’ Well, he wmight have been but this year hasnt been inspiring confidence

  • Rose, Bottarri? Both guys who will be on the team next year

  • it’s 100% the coaches decision to continue to play a guy who cant hit the side of a barn, over developing a qb for next year. Why BB started, wasnt pulled and game-planned for after declaring transfer is 1000% on the coaches.

This one was baffling, top to bottom; sticking with BB, no Rose, not seeing MB till what, the 2nd half? Not Ludwig’s finest hour either. This was a legit turd that starts to makes you more concerned than just another loss

  • Development comes from game experience, QBs want to play, if they are or think they are good enough to start somewhere they head out. So developing a QB is kind of a misnomer these days, Whit has said as much–lot of turnover in QB rooms–if they are not playing, they head elsewhere. No point in developing a guy who’s just gunna bounce to a…[Read more]

Well yea, obviously a coach hyping up his team, that’s not new. You make it seem like their was a talent disparity between a HS and college team. Yes, we are down and they have talent–but then shouldn’t we have been 30 point dogs, not 7?

  • ORute replied to the topic Outcoached in the forum Football 1 year, 1 month ago

That’s a very fair argument. Thanks

  • ORute replied to the topic Outcoached in the forum Football 1 year, 1 month ago

I agree–our culture is our strength–its been one of Whitt’s biggest achievements and overcomes a lot of discrepancies in talent. SC–always has been about flash, ego, prima donnas etc. But its on coaches and coaching to set that culture. That and their DC is clearly no bueno

Seem a tad angry. Having an age old discussion about talent v coaching. Never said anything about love for UO, Nike, propaganda or that they are a better program. Lets try to separate logic from emotion and have a discussion? or not, idc

  • ORute replied to the topic Outcoached in the forum Football 1 year, 1 month ago

If the talent discrepancy on the field is the answer–then what is SC? They’ve got more 5 stars than anyone, consistently underperform, D is a mess, got beat at their place with our backups. Did we get lucky? Maybe their coaching has something to do with it–especially on D

  • ORute replied to the topic Outcoached in the forum Football 1 year, 1 month ago

Whitt himself said they were outcoached–laid all the blame on the coaches. It happens. Maybe a letdown after SC, maybe not. To anyone who watched the entire video, hard to say they didn’t come in better prepared and took advantage

  • ORute replied to the topic Vaki and our receivers in the forum Football 1 year, 1 month ago

Yep, Oregon has a specific signal for when Vaki on the field–according to the commentators. Feel like Oregon was playing one step ahead and we were running the same stuff and expecting it to work the same as Cal and USC.

I also think there becomes a point of deminishing returns playing Vaki on both sides. There is a reason no one plays both…[Read more]

If ASU can hold on and beat UW, for sure Gameday

  • ORute replied to the topic Rose in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago

Yea, meant give Rose all the reps. If he’s healthy he needs to play

  • ORute replied to the topic Rose in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago

Yea, makes no sense to me either. Basically its saying Ludwig’s offense is so complex that a year and a half in the program isn’t long enough to learn it? Was Rose not allowed to look at the playbook while he was injured? imo, getting Rose up to speed is more important than a ‘gameready’ BB. Rose is the (potential)future, BB is not, get him the…[Read more]

lol, I had to google ‘Do it now Utah!’ thought maybe it was some unknown quote from the McBride era pumping up the team. Nope, just a Friday afternoon drunk post on UteHub. like the energy though

  • ORute replied to the topic Football in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago

    lol, don’t drink and post

  • ORute replied to the topic Struggles in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago

Of course injuries–but everyone has them, its part of the game. While much falls on Whit, he also hasn’t been calling a zillion runs up the middle. Its a combination of many things; injuries, better QB1 planning, unexpectly subpar O-Line, PLAY CALLING and to be fair, some good D’s thus far. Just a bad combo of stuff at the same time and we get…[Read more]

Gotta disagree with JJ not being a RB1. Guy averages 6.5 yards/carry as a RB–and thats as a converted QB still learning the position.
