Im just going to say it, Bernard has been the biggest loss of all. He’s been such a versatile weapon on offense; as a runner, blocker, pass catcher, leader. I dont see our O struggling nearly as much with him–certainly great to have everyone back, but he was the glue guy and just what we’ve been lacking offensively

ORute replied to the topic Riley's interview with Cam today. Puts to bed a bunch of rumors. in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago
Not only plan B, but to have your QB1 (Rose) go full contact in practice right before the season. I mean, our D needed to practice by tackling our QB1? This just all seems bizarro

ORute replied to the topic Riley's interview with Cam today. Puts to bed a bunch of rumors. in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago
So Cam tore his ACL, MCL, MCSL and meniscus. This is major and frankly any frustration should now shift from ‘why isn’t he back by now’ to ‘he really shouldn’t be even practicing right now’. Forget soon or Kyle or whatever, he needs at least 12 months, anything less and he’s seriously jeopardizing reinjury. I had knee surgery, not this bad, but…[Read more]

I believe this was the case. That they expected Rose to be the heir apparent and things seemed to be going that way. I think Ludwig’s offense is geared toward a pocket passer who can read D’s and make adjustments at the line. There was never a gamelan for NJ or BB, that seems clear. No one also expected a historical level or injuries–a health…[Read more]

No one is calling Whitt stupid, no one questioning his coaching ability, but with the information available it seems evident that this might have been handled differently and/or better. Im not sure what why you are attacking someone’s POV that’s now held by many. This is a CFB message board so this is pretty much all we do, we’re not yes-men and…[Read more]

This is 100% confirmation that this whole thing is on how the staff handled this. Not disclosing injuries is one thing, but to put as your opening day depth chart Rising as QB1 with statements that say a decision will be made a day or 2 before kickoff, knowing that he’s nowhere near ready is really misleading. It creates expectations, rumors and…[Read more]

ORute replied to the topic So what would you do if your were the coach? in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago
Steady dose of handoffs up the middle and 5 yard slants. Then once a game find the TE for a TD.

This completely. just seems wierd to build your offensive identity on someone who likeley wouldnt be back game 1, if at all, and when he does, wont be 100%

This is delusional, why have Cam split reps if he knew he wasnt playing (didnt even dress) and had a 2 week bye coming up. Sorry, to not fully prep the 2 healthy QBs and instead give half reps to one who clearly wouldn’t play is poor management

“alright Cam we want you back but we have to prepare with personnel we know are going to make the season. We will give you every resource we can for you to be that guy, but we have a responsibility to the program and that means covering our bases. Worst case we get you to the draft healthy.”
This is the key. Staff should have planned ass…[Read more]

I actually think running was a huge part of CR game and any hinderance to running makes him significantly less effective. Think of how many times the pocket broke down he and just took off for 15-30 yards, stiff-arming DBs. Will he still be doing that? We all hope he does, but for the most part no one will know until he’s facing live bullets.…[Read more]

Again, not saying either/or, all or nothing, just not put all our eggs in one basket or the other. Right now all the offensive eggs are in the Cam basket. Better to develop 2 baskets, because one basket has a hole and no one knows when/if it will be fixed. And yea, imo if we developed and built some schemes around Nate I think we’d win fewer…[Read more]

No one is saying ‘prepare him (NJ) for next year’, we’re saying prepare him for this year. Its obvious the offensive game plan is 99% built around Cam. That’s fine, except Cam has yet to play. I think it’s fair to get a QB who is playing, better prepared, just handing off, not expanding the playbook, not getting reps for NJ or any other healthy…[Read more]

Totally agree that injuries have been a huge factor, my gripes are with Ludwig–play calls, qb dev, etc, never with the players, and that’s the clearly the sentiment of the fans. The rare fan who bags on 18-22 year olds who give their heart for this team and university will always be lame, but I dont see that as the cases here. I think the…[Read more]

The booing was clearly the playcalling, it became so obvious Helen Keller knew what we were going to run. No one is calling for mass firings or jumping off ledges, I think its just a genuine concern for our offense as we open conference play. We can and should be honest; our D and its depth is the best we’ve seen, our O is hot garbage. And the…[Read more]
