Regarding the selection process, I read somewhere that the NCAA only fielded 8 teams in the early days–they tried to get the best team they could from 8 different regions of the country.
The NIT field was a bit larger, and they just tried to invite the best teams regardless of location.
If no PCC teams played in the 1944 post-season, it…[Read more]

The NIT started in 1938 and the NCAA started in 1939. From what I’ve read, the first few years the NIT was definitely preferred, as there was more money involved and they played at Madison Square Garden.
The NCAA caught up a bit money-wise and started also playing at MSG in 1943. I’ve seen different arguments about the tourneys’ prestige levels…[Read more]

Hamburger-Gravy replied to the topic Mammoth, Outlaws, or HC… what you like? in the forum NHL 1 month, 3 weeks ago
I can live with either Outlaws or Mammoth, I just hope the logo/branding looks good. With Ryan Smith calling the shots, I am not hopeful in that department (The yellow Utah Jazz rebrand was SO bad).
Utah Hockey Club is not it.
I am glad that Ryan threw out the “Wasatch” idea after one day of backlash lol.

He looked great in the BYU game before his lysfranc fracture. It’s not his fault the coaching staff let him play the rest of the game on one leg.

Wasn’t Nate Johnson injured as well? That would’ve made Bottari 5th String against CU last year.

Her second update on Twitter makes it clear that no one knew how bad it was Saturday.
Her first update probably meant that the doctor couldn’t believe he was able to walk after the Lisfranc fracture was diagnosed on Monday.

He went to USC initially… He transferred to Ole Miss when USC brought in Caleb Williams.

It was a season-ending injury in the sense that the injury ended Cam’s season (granted, it was late during the bowl game).

“All I’m saying is that the analytics are very much in favor of scheduling late Utah kickoffs. You don’t win many games playing at 10 AM MST. We just didn’t execute effectively enough in the redzone to win against Arizona. There are old school guys who believe in earlier kickoffs.”

Cool, I prefer the late kickoffs over the morning/early afternoon slots. Feels like the team normally plays better under the lights as well, AZ game notwithstanding.
