Mitchell signs with Arizona:

The UA has earned a commitment from former Utah rusher Mike Mitchell, who will have three seasons of eligibility remaining. He joins ex-Texas State running back Ismail Mahdi in a backfield that also includes returners Kedrick Reescano and Kayden Luke and incoming freshman Wesley Yarbrough.

DT is especially concerning. As of now we have no one that was starting or any of the primary backups from the 2024 team. This was our DT depth chart at the start of this past season:

No. 58 — Junior Tafuna — 6-3, 308 pounds, Sr.

Wouldn’t be much of an upset since it is #8 (OSU) vs #9 (Tennessee) but out of the four first-round games I think Tennessee has the best chance of an upset. OSU is favored by 7.5 points.

I think there will be at least one upset out of the four.

Recruited by a lot of big programs, e.g., Ohio State, Texas, Florida, Oregon, but “only” a 3-star. Wonder why then all the attention??? Must have something real good that they all see.

Assume he’ll be playing DE rather than LB since we’re looking a bit thin in this position at this point.
247 shows him weighing 230 lbs so he may need to beef up a some.

Also, he’s a legacy. Father was a Ute WR in 1997-98 – caught 98 passes for 1,435 yards.

Bartle on a recent broadcast said that Wayshawn Parker is visiting the U next weekend.
Before Utah I’ve read that he is also visiting USC, UCLA, and Arizona.

I know both USC and UCLA lost both of their to-be 2025 starting RBs to the portal so hopefully hiring the WSU RB coach gives us a fighting chance. USC for sure will be offering bags and bags.
