Thanks for the update….yeah, last year was a bummer. I remember that last season the Red Rocks were also first going into the final exercise and ended up in third place. Keeping my fingers crossed this year.

Can you read? I’m guessing probably not since I said above that my standard is a press conference and an official communique from the school. But hey, feel free to spin my comments whichever way you want.

I’m not a pessimist. I was just around for Bellick’s deal with the Jets, Big Rick’s deal with USC, and also remember Jensen pulling his name out of contention four years ago. By all means, I want to it happen but I won’t let my guard down until there’s a press conference and an official communique from the school.

An official announcement has yet to happen from the school.

I’m going to wait until the actual press conference before I start celebrating. There’s still no confirmation from either the school or Jensen’s camp.

If Jensen isn’t announced by the end of the season, then we have some significant issues. It could very well be that nothing was locked in before Smith’s firing and Utah essentially jumped into an abyss. That’s never a good course of action. LOL…so I’m guessing the person that gave me the downvote on this post is either a BYU fan or just doesn’t like me.

I was about to mention that. Both BYU and Utah shot over 80 percent from the FT line. Another thing that strikes me every time I watch the women play is how much more solid they are in the fundamentals of basketball. Theirs is a more disciplined, though certainly much less athletic, than the men.

Well, he’s a local kid of sorts, so I do hope he stays once the season is over. I can see some similarities with Kuzma but he’s nowhere the ball handler that Kuzma was.

$5M is what his buyout is…probably $4M after taxes though.

You never know…Utah State has lost their head coach at the end of the previous two seasons. Personally, I can see Smith getting picked up by a G5 team and once again having success, to include return trips to the NCAAs. He just doesn’t have what it takes to be a consistent winner at a P4 program.

I was being ironic for the most part. I noticed a few people on the site, after Smith got fired, saying words to the effect of “watch the team play better now.” Not gonna happen…and it wouldn’t surprise me to see Utah lose every game remaining on their schedule.
