Can you imagine the depth a Georgia or Oregon will have with 105 scholarships? The SEC and Big Ten teams are already signing most of the 4 and 5 star recruits. Now they can horde more talent.

UteZone has declined considerably as a must read for Utah fans. The mods are hamstrung by the Utah athletic department and the mood has turned decidedly negative with the relegation to the Big 12. I think the world of Steve and glad he’s landed in a great spot for him.

Any realignment discussion has to consider Virginia and North Carolina as schools that either the SEC and Big Ten would covet. Calling Cam a QB that can run and not a running QB is a distinction without a difference. Either way defenses have to account for his ability. If Utah cloisters him in the pocket and tells him not to run, we lose a valuable part of the offense.

So Ryan Smith couldn’t get “The Utah Winter Games” approved. LOL

Utah will be walking a fine line this season. They have to run Cam enough that his running ability makes the defense play honest. But they can’t put him in harm’s way too much, given his value to the team. I know we’ll all be holding our breath every time he’s tackled. May the Great Spaghetti Monster in the sky rain his lucky marinara down on Cam.

I love to hear someone mention Utah’s running backs excelling at pass protection. It makes all the difference in the world. Keeping Cam from taking hits this year is critical.

UteZone is by far the best forum around for knowledgeable Utah fans. Steve Bartle has raised the bar during his tenure.

If we win, most voters will immediately say, “I told you the PAC-12 is a mess.” They would not get the same treatment as 2 top Big Ten or ACC teams get. But there is hope the CFP committee would treat Utah very well as they have in the past.
