I think DJ wouldn’t be half bad if he was with someone other than PK…but those 2 have been together so long he may not be able to handle that. But yes, the other 2 FOR SURE need to go.

1320 KFAN’s station manager and morning show host. Was largely a bully, blow-hard, and pandering imbecile who spouted off and talked over his co-hosts.
The backstory is he was brought in a bout a year ago from the San Francisco area, where he was largely abhorred and not very highly regarded. I wish I could dig it up, but a local Bay Area…[Read more]

Re-watching the USU game this week, I could not help but think that he could have run out of bounds around the 15 yd line and prevented the shoulder injury (he only got 3 more yards by taking the tackle like that).
Part of it is the reactive mentality that you have during the play (can’t really stop to think, its more ingrained in you vs. taught).

This brings up the other aspect of an ignore feature in conjunction with the downvotes – have both and then its the best of both worlds.

Chat would definitely be a fun RealTime thing to pass the time during games.

I’ve only heard good things about Mad Max, which is refreshing since it didn’t get the huge corporate marketing push before it came out. I might have to pick it up on a steam sale later on.

Rainbow Six: The Siege has some good tactical based gameplay – Coming out on Dec. 1st Haven’t been in the beta but hearing good things about it.
You sound a lot like me, MMOs lose their luster after the initial excitement and I just end up going back to WoW for a few months until the nostalgia burns away.

That is why there needs to be a negative consequence to the downvote – i.e. hide the post (gray it out, collapse it, something that make it easy to skip without seeing it).

I don’t disagree – it is the single best way to get trolls to go away. However, practically speaking, it is hard to do to coordinate an entire site’s worth of posters (668 and counting!) to not respond to a troll’s post. It also encourages trolls to get more and more daring/boisterous/offensive to get reactions out of people.

Valid point – but then you have to account for the lag effect of reversing the mod’s decisions or getting them removed from their position.
Its a discussion I think that is warranted. I’m in favor of a “upvote/downvote” system since I feel it helps give a sense of community when you are contributing to a thread – you feel bolstered by upvotes and…[Read more]

There is a difference between shadow-banning a user, and limiting an offending post. I, too, believe the best way to combat trolls is to simply ignore them – but that is not what 80% of the online community does. Each troll post still inevitably gains traction and will keep getting bumped up to the top of the category list. A solution like I’m…[Read more]

Not really, unless its abused as a disagreement button. and even then, unless you are going out of your way to troll then you’re not going to get downvoted enough for it to affect you. Its a “community moderation” tool to combat trolls.
