Hemorrhaging some of our best raw talent. I thought given last seasons alleged good team chemistry this wouldn’t happen. Looks like more of the same.
Pervasive transfers throughout NCAA changes recruiting. Coaches will refocus on available talent moving from other schools. I wouldn’t place most of my efforts on incoming Freshmen knowing a…[Read more] -

A couple years ago, Whit was packed and ready to become U$C head coach. Something changed that night and they went with Helton.

Wish it were so, but NCAA hasn’t been enforcing major rules for quite a while.
They are however, efficient at adding trivial, circumspect rules to further confuse coaches, fans and student athletes making compliance full time jobs for a staff of people at most major universities,.so I guess there’s that -

Recruiting?
We brought in a lot of talent for OVs. This slide though. . .

Let me clarify, not saying that WOULD have happened, only that $C fans could muse if only we were at full strength we woulda . . .

That’s the problem with sweets. Every teams got em and fans only look in their teams goody bags.$C is riddled with injuries. For example their best lb didn’t suit up, again. If only they were they suited up all their missing two deep they would have stymied Moss and run roughshod over our defense the whole game like they did the first half.Utah…[Read more]

homer replied to the topic Who are the two crappiest teams in each division and why? in the forum Football 7 years, 3 months ago
North Cal, OSU. Beavers are much improved, but the top of the North is way ahead talent wise.Cal long term is doomed. They might now have a better coach, but the school is deep in the red financially. They face a hostile faculty and students. Dykes left the new staff in a difficult position. Little talent, new schemes. This season Cal is the…[Read more]

homer replied to the topic Thoughts on second overall in the forum Football 7 years, 4 months ago
I do. I predict 6-6, +-1. It’s not a reflection on team strength, but loss of talent, a brutal schedule, and installing a new offense. I think Utes defense will give up the most on average points per game since joining PAC12, again based on loss of secondary, and an up tempo offense that won’t sustain long drives time wise. All the above leads…[Read more]

Several teams after $C will tie conference records. Highly doubt tbere will be clear cut 2nd-6th. Based on schedule and graduations I think Utes finish in 3rd tier of the ties.
In North, Stanford, Wazzu, Ducks battle for runner-up. My guess Furd, then Ducks, Wazzu in tie.

homer replied to the topic Troy Williams in the forum Football 7 years, 5 months ago
Couple thoughts, 1st, Travis was a stud. Brought us back for 4th quarter victories several times. Was handicapped by changing O-coordinators. Not saying he was the best passer, but the guy balled out.
Troy doesn’t inspire me. He talks the talk, but last year made a lot of poor decisions, bad throws. Hoping the new offense let’s him shine,…[Read more]

Up to tonight, OSU defense ranked 31st, Utah’s 35. Utah is in middle of PAC12 defense rankings ytd. I think people believe Utah’s defense is stronger than the current record indicates.
We’re 25% through the season. We shall see.

homer replied to the topic Still need 4 tickets for the Cal game in the forum Football 9 years, 1 month ago
I want to get 2 tickets for a couple of friends to the Cal game too. But as a long time season ticket holder and crimson club member I would expect to pay ticket price plus pro rata share of CC donation. Seems only fair.
And if the market exceeds that value, then if my friends want them they should not whine about it and pay the market…[Read more]

I’m just glad to see posts from people long ago lost. Hoping to see maki, heartless, LA, others.
I gave up posting on UFN years ago for the most part. Twitter been my friend. Hoping this site works out.
To that end, I’ll show and post, hopefully something worth reading, occasionally.

homer replied to the topic Which Pac12 team makes CFP? in the forum Football 9 years, 2 months ago
Didn’t see this topic post till after I started something similar. The consequences of insomnia.
I think there is no dominant PAC team this season, and the parity because of weaknesses each exhibit results in no PAC playoff team.
Furd looked terrible against Northwestern, then dominates SC. That’s just the beginning.
Prove me wrong Utes!

homer started the topic PAC12 Parity in the forum Football 9 years, 2 months ago
Seems this season no team has it all together. Each one is showing vulnerabilities. Teams seem tightly bunched. Someone ends up conference champs, but will this be the year the PAC is left out of the “final 4”?
After we finish clobbering each other, it looks like a distinct possibility.
