Interesting to see this thread now in light of how the season played out.
We’re going to see how we match up against tOSU and the Ducks face the Stoops-coached Sooners. Both had high CFP hopes at one point; 2021 was chaotic for so many ranked teams. Wonder if Whitt still talks to Urban…

This is the weakest year for rivalry smack outside of our hiatus seasons. It’ll be nice to get #10 in the bag and put a nice bow on the TDS independence era.

Remember, the same is true for the Utes- we haven’t really played a great team yet, and we lost to a Cal team that we should have beat. UDub is the most complete team in the P12 and the toughest D we will face. If we were healthy, I’d agree with you but we’re depleted.

Not sure why you think Helfrich won’t be fired… he’s ranked as the 4th hottest seat in CFB.

Wow- what an idiot. Someone who tossed away an NFL career by not being willing to stay in shape has no business criticizing a player like that. Seeing some of SC fans’ comments about Utah really piss me off. Makes me enjoy the win even more.

What will BYU do when Taysom and Jamaal are injured? They’ll put in their QB that might actually have pro prospects, but Jamaal has no worthy backup. I was a little surprised to see them go with Hill this year.

I may be wrong, but I think it had to do more with preventing miscommuncation and to slow down the clock. I think it had more to do with tempo than fear of the signals being read.

I share your dislike of ASU, I have some Wildcat friends and Tucson connections so it’s harder to hate on AZ. Both fanbases act like USC-lite so it gets easier to despise their smugness all the time.

I have no problem with this move… except that if we don’t get even a middling PAC-caliber QB to replace TW, I’m going to have to go scream and break things.
