I’d argue that the byu-Utah Rivalry is still alive and well. It probably always will be. The thing is that, at least in my opinion, its gotten to the point to where its strictly a cultural one. There’s no doubt that this rivalry has been unique in that cultural differences have always been such a huge part of it, but it used to also have huge implications for the football season itself; now it has none.

Then again, I could also see how it would seem completely dead to those fans who aren’t continually exposed to the cultural side of it… I envy those fans.

I can get on board with that. Thats what these forums are for after all. But taking it the extra step of criticizing him and his attitude when he’s clearly devastated, and predicting that he’s going to quit the team because he “doesn’t give a Fuh” is not calling him out for playing poorly.

“And after his post game attitude, it wouldn’t shock me if he quit.

I feel bad because the dude’s dream has died twice this season, but good hell, why would you take your team down with you?

Everyone else played great tonight. Troy single handily lost us this game. Then the attitude?

      Wow.” -Utah

“Yeah I see him quitting after Bateman gets the second spot.  I didn’t think much of the attitude thing against San jose St.  Clearly he doesn’t give a Fuh.” -you

Your response telling me not to critisize you is about as predictable as it gets. Troy and the rest of those college kids are fair game, but you and your conduct is beyond reproach.

This is very true. And it seems to apply to both fan bases. Last year when we played them and there was the two targeting hits in a row, the second of which I believe knocked McCormick out of the game, there were still utah fans that were commending him for cleaning up the dirty play. Which is crazy considering what the reaction would have been if that were bronco out there reacting the way Kalani was after those hits.

And somehow their recruiting is on the rise even though I believe his classes have been worse than broncos. Although even our recruiting guys say there’s an improvement under kalani, so maybe there’s some truth to that I’m missing?

Actually Carrington caught two, and dropped two of Troy’s passes. One drop was on a deep ball down the sideline. It was a tough catch but probably one that you would expect a reciever like Carrington to haul in most of the time. And even though it was a better deep ball than we’ve seen thrown thus far this season, it was probably an incompletion because . . . Troy Williams.

Carrington actually caught the other “drop,” but he caught it with his hands, away from his body, and the defender made a great play to strip it away. But you know, that was Troy’s fault as well.

In all seriouseness though, I was a little nervous to see that the drops seemed to return when Troy got in the game. But I think i’ll wait to see more than two and half quarters of football before I put that blame on the QB.

If the DB had been tackled after his momentum carried him into the end zone on that interception, would it have been a touchback or safety?

Ok, I’ll play this game. Tyler Huntly vs. BYU:

Half 1: punt, punt, field goal, punt, field goal

Half 2: TD, Fumble, punt, field goal, fumble, TOD, punt

Vintage Troy Willia… er Tyler Huntley. I’m just as dissapointed as anyone that Tyler went down, but stop with this bagging on Troy Williams. Especially when you were all optimism about what he could do in this offense until Huntley was named starter. It’s not a very good look.

LSU only used 10%!of the play card that game.

My response… I think what you meant to say was LSU FCS’ed byu-p. The back probably would have matched or exceeded his college average had LSU not FCS’ed them.
