Ever hear of Ohio State University? Ohio State to play Kyle McCord, Devin Brown…

Yeah, I wish we could exorcise our Boise State demons. However, Utah was not in the MWC with Boise State.

Hopefully… but TCU will always make me nervous (until proven otherwise)

It was one of those games where is was hard to tell if the offenses were amazing or the defenses were terrible.
It was entertaining and it does seem like Colorado has some players.

Strange that an SUU player was ejected from an ASU vs CSU game 😉.
Jokes aside, that ASU/SUU final score does not look good for ASU…

I feel like both teams flubbed most of the second half.
Utah was doing their best to let Florida back in the game by playing that stupid @%#$^&! prevent style defense on every play and calling an incompetently conservative offense that couldn’t move the chains. Why couldn’t they just keep playing to win, instead of not to lose?
On the other…[Read more]

I don’t think I will ever stop hating the “sitting on a lead” strategy.
I don’t see how letting the opposing team march up and down the field at will is a beneficial, winning strategy.
Couple that with the offensive side where we play so conservatively that there is basically no offense. Why stop doing what was working? Why let the other team…[Read more]

RedRocks replied to the topic Was anyone else surprises that Whitt/Lud put Johnson back in the game in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
I was glad that they let him keep playing. It was mildly surprising, given Whittingham’s reputation.
That said, I wish they wouldn’t swap the QB’s mid drive. Let them finish something. Also, let Johnson throw the ball…

RedRocks replied to the topic Where to get Utah apparel? in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
Probably just because it is a small operation running on Shopify. I have never ordered from there (I just learned about it here, today) so I can’t vouch for the business or the product. However, some of it looks pretty nice.

Is this the same ‘Pig Bus’ that I’ve heard about giving Ute fans a horrible reputation on Twitter?

Agreed. I want some new Utah gear but I haven’t seen anything I like; is has been this way for a while.
I don’t have anything against Under Armor as a brand; however, I have never really been much of a fan of their designs.

Trick plays can be fun; however, they can be a bit risky since you likely don’t practice them as much.

I assume the offense will start out like it usually does; too many three-and-outs, a bit of sloppiness, and some obvious mistakes. I am hoping the run game is solid and will carry us through.
I guess I am drinking the Kool-Aid on the defense and think they will play pretty well. I assume we will give up some big pass plays, since that seems to…[Read more]

Aren’t beignets and funnel cakes completely different things? This is the first time I remember hearing about ‘beignets’ and I don’t recall ever trying either, so take my question with a grain of salt (or sugar).
As much as I detest the school down south, there are admittedly some decent people that make it out of there…

RedRocks replied to the topic Hypothetical question for the Florida game in the forum Football 1 year, 4 months ago
Personally, I hope they don’t play Cam if he is only ‘75%’.
If you are playing hobbled, you tend to compensate with unnatural movements and decisions that open you up to mistakes and injury.
Don’t play him until he is closer to ‘100%’ and in game ready form.

I think it is mostly because people were talking up the team and Rising’s recovery all summer. Now that the games are closer, we are realizing that people were probably being overly optimistic.
Add to that our rough schedule and things may not turn out as well as some fans think they will.
Or… Utah will go undefeated 😉.

RedRocks replied to the topic Kuithe??? in the forum Football 1 year, 4 months ago
I think people inside and outside the program were too optimistic about Rising and Kuithe. Didn’t Covey require almost 2 years before he was fully ready to go after his ACL injury?
Not all injuries (even of the same type) are equal and different people heal at different rates.

As bearish as I have been about Utah’s quarterback situation, I too feel like this game is winnable.
However, I have noticed that my feelings don’t seem to affect the outcome of football games… 😉
That is probably a good thing, because I don’t feel too confident about many of the road games this year… -
