Honestly, I hope Barnes comes out and proves everyone wrong. I hope he plays so well that we have a starting quarterback controversy. He is a local guy and I wish him nothing but the best.

Obviously this won’t happen because this is Utah (we don’t develop QB’s), but one can dream.

My personal preferences would be in the order below, with the idea that California games would be useful for recruiting. If they are not, delete the California Teams.

California Teams > Original Pac-12 Teams > B1G & SEC Teams > Regional Match-Ups (like Boise State, Utah State)

Well, yeah. Saying “this was clearly a strategic error” is 100% benefiting from hindsight. Had they accepted the offer, we would not be saying that the Pac-12 would be dead otherwise.

I am not disagreeing that it was an error (in hindsight). The Pac-12’s university and conference leaders made many mistakes. The TV deal was just one.

This. Had the Pac-12 accepted the offer, the very same people complaining that they didn’t accept the offer would be complaining that they accepted the offer.

Make no mistake, many errors were made that led to the demise of the Pac-12.

I am actually not feeling particularly confident about our QB situation, which actually casts a lot of doubt on the season (at least to start). The Utah coaches always seem to struggle with quarterbacks, whether it be naming the correct starter/backup coming out of fall camp or developing them as the years progress.

This is dumb.

Don’t forget that we were once in their shoes and, for all we know, could find ourselves out in the cold again someday.

The only thing I wish we could be rid of right now are all these stupid comments from some of our fans.
