I just wanted to come on here and say how sorry I am to hear about Alex Smith’s daughter. I have always loved Alex Smith. He was a consummate pro and was such a good QB. Everyone who played with him loves him. He did nothing but win and was always classy.

Then he suffers that terrible leg injury that almost costs him his life (and his leg), and…[Read more]

  • It’s funny to me. I thought you guys would control this game. Many on CB were surprised. Then they tried to pretend like this wasn’t a great win.

You guys manhandled a solid SEC team. CB acts like it wouldn’t be going bananas if we were in your shoes.

Anyway, congrats again, and good luck on the season!

  • Great win without rising, and other key starters. You guys controlled them from start to finish. They had to feel so vindicating after letting last year‘s game slip away in the swamp. You smacked them around.

Good luck the rest of the way. It is fantastic to have football back!

Spot on. I tried to make it clear in my OP that the thing that hurts the most is simply that he has dominated us. It stings. I have said on this site multiple times (looks at my post history) that Whit is an elite coach. I have congratulated you on your big wins.

And yes, 100% we wish we had gotten him in 2005.

Seeing how you describe it makes…[Read more]

    Fair enough.

I’ve always tried to be respectful on your site. I’m really not trying to argue. But I feel like you’re twisting my words so I’ll respond. This is what I said in my OP:

“You would think Whitt would simply be able to say BYU and at least stop pretending like the two teams don’t have over 100 years of history. It is one of the best rivalries i…[Read more]

How is this cherry-picking an article? You: “Where do BYU fans get that ye won’t say BYU?”

I post an example of an article from an interview he did and I’m cherry-picking?

And to be clear, I don’t really care. I am more annoyed that he has dominated us. But you asked a question and I provided some evidence.

Yeah, the Max Hall comment was embarrassing. No defending that. He had a fall from grace and has matured a bit since then. However, he claims his family got some awful treatment from Utah fans in previous games and he took it very personally. But he definitely took it too far.

Eric Weddle is my favorite Ute of all time. He was so magnanimous in…[Read more]

Are you serious? Look, I mentioned in my post that I really don’t care. I more care about the fact that he has owned us. But he clearly avoids saying BYU around the…[Read more]

  • Most normal BYU fans I know hate Whittingham for one reason: because he has owned us in the rivalry. Second to that would be the fact that he is a BYU guy and played under Lavell and so it’s doubly painful to see him have so much success at Utah and against us.

I’ll admit, I think it’s kind of childish how he won’t say BYU and won’t simply admit…[Read more]

Great post. I liked your explanation on missing the big brands and that totally makes sense. I want to address a few of your points from what I feel are most BYU fans’ perspectives…at least the BYU fans I know.

“I think all of your fans conveniently blame our rise on the money and conference. And while it is certainly accurate, it doesn’t a…[Read more]

I really don’t think we will. For years in the WAC we thought we were the best team in the conference and our record showed that. There was clearly a level of arrogance there and I don’t blame other programs for hating us. That hate and animosity carried over to the Mountain West.

With the WCC in basketball, we idiotically waltzed into that con…[Read more]

  • First off, welcome to the B12. I know from reading your comments and talking to Ute friends that you’re in mourning over the death of the PAC. So I’m sure you’re feeling mixed emotions about joining the B12.

You’ll have to excuse all the excitement and trash talking by BYU fans over the PAC’s demise. You’ve clearly had the upper hand on us since…[Read more]

  • Seriously, what an inredible accomplishment. And to do it in such dominating fashion in the P12 championship. I have a family member who played for Utah a while back and I’ve never seen him so happy. I was genuinely happy for him.
K-Whit has been an incredible coach. I read so many articles this week how he is the “most underrated coach” in the…[Read more]

  • You guys owned them. Great season. Good luck in the Rose Bowl!

K-Whit is an incredible coach and Cam Rising has a huge pair of balls. What a player.

  • I know this is your message board and I don’t come here seeking pity. But I really thought Kalani had figured things out the last few seasons. It is now glaringly obvious that all the discipline and toughness was from Grimes. The further we get away from him, the more we revert to our sloppy Kalani seasons pre-Grimes.
I laughed at Utah State…[Read more]

  • I tip my cap. Utes always show up in big games like this. I’m envious.

  • I thought this was pretty funny.

  • Yikes, that got ugly fast. I kept trying to tell all my BYU friends that their speed was going to destroy us. Speed kills BYU every. single. time. Saw a stat on Cougarbard that Oregon has something like 52 (4 and 5 star) recruits on their team. BYU has 3 lol. There are so many examples of us being ranked, playing a team with athletes, and just…[Read more]

  • So many pundits are already annointing them to the CFP. Joel Klatt heaps praise on them here and talks about their 8.2 yards per play average without mentioning they’ve played two games, one of which was against Rice.
Then speaking of Utah, he goes, “Anthony Richardson showed you the blueprint on how to beat Utah”. Please. It was the first game…[Read more]
