Cam Rising is 19-1 vs teams that are as equally talented or less talented than Utah.
There is not a single team we play this year with more talent than Utah.

Utah replied to the topic How is Oklahoma State not picked first? in the forum Football 6 months, 1 week ago
Huh? OSU lost to South Alabama last year.
Go look at the average score of Utah with Risng as QB. Then look at “better on paper” comment.
Utah is better in paper.

I don’t know if this is a Utah/BYU thing or a young person thing or a “content creator” thing or what.
But I don’t understand this need to pander to everyone.
There is a reason we are picked first and our OL is ranked fourth best. We are good. And our inexperienced OL? We return 4 starters who had a better rushing attack than OSU last year an…[Read more]

lol. Alright OSU fan. So, OSU’s line is marginally better than ours. Doesn’t change anything I said. We are the better team with the easier schedule.

Utah replied to the topic Question: Would Jay Hill take the USU job? in the forum Football 6 months, 1 week ago
Unless BYU is going to spend big in NIL, USU is a better job than BYU.

Utah replied to the topic Question: Would Jay Hill take the USU job? in the forum Football 6 months, 1 week ago
I don’t know. Hill’s goal was 100% to take over for Whitt when he retired. That’s why he left Utah. He wanted to show he could be a HC, which he did. The problem is, sometimes you prefer the guy who is there and Scalley got the job.
I think if Hill were to do his life over again, when Pease retired and Whitt called him at Weber St and offered…[Read more]

This. So many Big 12 fans and media think Utah is going to struggle playing “real” football and Utah will have to learn what physical, southern football is, because their players are from the south and big boys and eat corn and shit.
It’s going to be fun to hit them and show them how us fancy boys in the west are just better.

We have the better QB. We have the better OL. We have the better TE. Even though OSU has the better RB, last year our rushing game was more effective and rushed for more yards per game at almost the same ypc. So, you could argue we have the better rushing attack. WR’s…I’ll give it to OSU…maybe. We have Singer and Pittman and others. We are…[Read more]

My thoughts: If OSU’s RB takes a step back with all his legal stuff or if he misses conference games, I could see OSU dropping hard. Their QB isn’t good enough to carry them.
And 11-16 (Colorado through ASU)…those teams are all toss ups. Injuries here or there and all of those teams could win 6-7 or 1 game.
Same with UCF. I see them as the…[Read more]

Utah replied to the topic Ceyair Wright commits to transfer to Nebraska in the forum Football 6 months, 2 weeks ago
Doesn’t Nebraska have like 125+ players now? They are going the BYU “pay the walk-ons enough to equal a scholarship” NIL deal. You can only play 11 at a time. There will be a huge exodus next when players find out they won’t be playing.
It’s wild right now.

And yet, they didn’t show up until the second half. BYU was up 24-6 at halftime and lost.
Utah fans defending BYU is the weirdest thing to me. Oklahoma St came out at halftime and went on a 21-3 second half to force overtime and then win. BYU shouldn’t be proud of that and that is proof how bad BYU was last year, not how good they were.
Win…[Read more]

Now look at Utah, 2023 vs 2024:
OOC:
Florida vs Baylor. Baylor is way easier.
@Baylor vs @Utah State. No disrespect to USU…ok, disrespect to USU, but Baylor is a G5 team and as bad as they are, that road game is tougher.
Weber St vs Southern Utah – Wash. Both easy.Conference Games:
@ #2 UW vs 11 Arizona
#8 Oregon vs #17 Oklahoma State

And BYU looking OK vs Oklahoma and Oklahoma State was a lot more of BYU, one win away from a bowl game, fighting for their lives vs two Oklahoma teams who already had their postseason fates determined and were 100% looking past BYU.
As well as BYU played…they still lost vs two teams who weren’t putting for their best effort to beat BYU.

Utah replied to the topic Utah vs TDS: talent discrepancy in the forum They So Poo Poo 6 months, 2 weeks ago
BYU’s record last year is a bit of…exaggeration. Their schedule was so easy.
Look at their non-conference schedule, 2023 vs 2024:
Sam Houston Bearcats vs Southern Illinois Salukis. As bad as Southern Ill is, Sam Houston is worse.
Southern Utah vs Wyoming. Again FCS vs G5. Wyoming is better.
Arkansas vs SMU…You could argue that Arkansas…[Read more] -
Utah replied to the topic Formal split between P4 and rest of D1 made official in the forum Football 6 months, 3 weeks ago
Huh? This is such a weird response. It makes no sense.
Where did I say anything about the well being of anyone on this site? And yes, sports are entertainment, but as the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB have all learned, heavily regulated capitalism is best. Spread the money around. Create limits to how much you can earn. Limit how much a team can spend.…[Read more]

Yup. And college football goes the way of basketball. No one cares until they can gamble on the playoffs.

That’s capitalism for you baby. Don’t worry about tomorrow. Gut everything today, for as much as you can. Tomorrow? Well, if it’s ruined, we will just move onto the next thing to gut.
-
Utah replied to the topic Formal split between P4 and rest of D1 made official in the forum Football 6 months, 3 weeks ago
Honestly…I wouldn’t hate it if the P2 broke off and the rest of the teams formed their own playoff and Utah was in the rest of the teams group.
It would be college football again, and I miss that.

I’m going to be pedantic here.
Weddle would never happen today. Everyone admits to that. Weddle was a kid Whitt and his coaching staff found, got him to commit, told him if he visited anywhere else he’d lose his scholarship and basically hid from other coaches.
That would never happen today. Everyone knows that Weddle was a high 4…[Read more]
