  • So much this. Our OL was at such a huge disadvantage last year.

Awesome! I loved my time there. Work hard, everybody is there to help you. My only regret, which is probably a lot of people’e regrets is this:

Put yourself out there. Take a couple of risks. Enjoy yourself. You are young and part of college is figuring out who you are. Go ahead and do it.

BUT, I’ll tell you what I tell my kids: Be the one…[Read more]

  • They are a good team. They lost to every team better than them.

They smoked us at home with our whole defense injured then ran up the score.

Good for them. We will repay them this fall. We are a much better team when healthy.

    Payback will be sweet.

  • Reports out of USC was that he was awful.

I’m sure that played a part in it.

  • For those of you who downvoted me, why wouldn’t be the favorite in the Big 12?

    We have the most talent.
We have the most stable and best coaching staff.
We are used to schedules a lot tougher than what we will face.
    We have the best defense.
We have the best QB in the conference.
We are one of, if not the most experienced team in the Big 12.…[Read more]

I think if we had beaten Ohio State, Whitt was done. He had done all he could do at Utah. Now that we are headed to the Big 12, I think if we get to the playoffs he will be done.

Like you said, it has to be awful to be a coach of a college football team. So much garbage to put up with. If he makes the playoffs, he can retire knowing he took Utah…[Read more]

It sounds like the Seattle Seahawks are going to go after DeBoer hard.

  • I’m going to be a broken record on this…but why do we not deserve this credit?

We won the PAC-12 two of the last three years. We’ve been in the title game the last four full seasons before this one.

We had half our team injured. And we still had 8 wins. And beat USC. And took UW to the wire. We only lost to UW, Oregon, USC, Oregon State and…[Read more]

  • Utah replied to the topic Televised games in the forum Misc 10 months, 1 week ago

We are back to MWC days…well not that bad, but pretty close.

FOX will pick up some games. ESPN will pick up others. ESPN+ will have the rest. Hopefully they don’t not televise the shitty games, like when we play FCS teams.

We SHOULD be able to get all games on tv, but that’s not a lock anymore. The good news is, we should be a top team in…[Read more]

  • Honestly…Yassmin is irrelevant. He never really did anything for us. We have Kuithe and King and Suguturaga coming back. Also on the roster we have Bentley, a 90 rated TE from Snow College. An .87 rated TE who redshirted last year. The guy from UCLA.

I’m not too worried about TE. We have talent, we have bodies. We will be just fine there.

  • Man, our safety and CB room is getting a lot better.

CB: Snowden, Calhoun (a .90 freshman from Michigan), Johnson (.89 transfer from GT), and Vaughn who had flashes of greatness last year.

S: Gilman (transfer from Stanford), Hall (who looked really good in the bowl game), Ritchie (who the coaches love).

We are adding 7 CB/S freshmen as well.…[Read more]

  • If I was a transfer QB, I’d wait until after spring ball if I had any options. Wait until there is an injury and see if there is a better fit than what they have right now.

  • Utah replied to the topic Where's Mikey? in the forum Football 10 months, 1 week ago

For sure. With Rising, Covey had 50+ catches a year. Vele had 50+ catches. Kincaid had 70.

Matthews was set to be the #1 receiver in our offense with Rising, on a team that should win the Big 12 and go to the playoffs. And instead he leaves that for Cal?

    I dunno man. I dunno.

  • Utah replied to the topic Where's Mikey? in the forum Football 10 months, 1 week ago

With how much Whitt loves Barnes, he has a better shot at Rising getting hurt and starting at Utah than USU.

  • Utah replied to the topic Where's Mikey? in the forum Football 10 months, 1 week ago

Can’t someone who is a student look him up and see if he is still in the directory?

  • I agree. We won 8 games with no QB, RB, and down two TE’s.

Our offense will be better. A lot better. Cam put up 38 points per game in the P12. The Big 12 is a lot easier.

And like you said, our schedule is WAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY easier. WAY. Easier.

We should win 10+ next year and we should look good doing it.

Look at our five hardest games in…[Read more]

  • Sure. Vaki was an absolute beast for two games for us. Versus Cal he ran for 158 yards.

The next week we played USC. He ran 9 times for 68 yards and had 5 catches for 149 yards. Two amazing games.

But he got figured out. After that:

5 carries for 11 yards vs Oregon.
    No touches vs ASU.
1 carry for -1 vs UW.
    4 carries for 10 yards vs…[Read more]

  • Yeah, people are buying into the BYU pushed narrative that the sky is falling in SLC. It’s not. Let’s compare positions:

QB: Better in 2024. Rising/Rose/Wilson vs Barnes and Johnson. Way better in 2024.
RB: Wash. Maybe better. Jackson was hurt most of the year. Bernard was hurt. Curry was hurt. We will be better in 2024 just due to the fact that…[Read more]

  • Let’s take a step back and review our players we are losing:

Miles Battle: Solid CB. He is replaceable. He wasn’t bad, wasn’t great.
Bills: Multi-year starter. Will be tough to replace.
Vaki: He and Jackson are so overrated…now hear me out. Not overrated as in bad. They were great. But overrated in that it will be easy to replace their…[Read more]

  • Wilner’s prediction is more spot on. We should be a top 10, borderline top 5 team going into next season.
