  • Look at their OOC P5 games:

    Alabama – Texas. 0-1
    LSU – FSU. 0-1.
    Mississippi St – Arizona. 1-0.
Ole Miss – Georgia Tech. 1-0.
    Texas A&M – Miami. 0-1.
    Auburn – California. 1-0.
    Arkansas – BYU (even though they aren’t a P5 level school). 0-1.
    Georgia – Georgia Tech. 1-0.
    Missouri – Kansas St. 1-0.
    Tennessee – Virginia. 1-0.
    Florida – U…[Read more]

  • Had Oregon won…then I could see the PAC-12 being left out for: Michigan, FSU, Alabama, Texas. But Oregon didn’t, Washington did, and the choice is easy.

Michigan vs Washington in the Rose Bowl.
Alabama vs Texas in the other bowl.

    Should be fun.

  • No drama. The committee has always said that they take injuries into account. FSU hasn’t looked good at all since their QB went down.

    #1 – Michigan.
    #2 – Washington.
    #3 – Texas
    #4 – Alabama.

It’s not that dramatic. Michigan should be #1. They have beaten a lot of really good teams. UW has beaten a lot of really good teams as well. They went…[Read more]

  • Yes…and no. Bowls came about before tv deals and big money. You’d play your conference games. Maybe a couple OOC games vs close by teams. But you’d never get to see Utah play a SEC or Big 10 or ACC team. You could in a bowl game.

    They were incredible.

Then the college conferences started selling their games to tv networks. So you’d get…[Read more]

  • Here is something great for Wilson to think about:

    Since 2017:

29 QB’s were taken in the first or second round.
23 of the 29 QB’s either redshirted or started the year as the backup QB.
Only 3 of the 29 QB’s drafted in the first round started day one. And two of those (Hurts and Mayfield) transferred to another school.

    So, going to a…[Read more]

  • There is only one reason Vaki would leave: NIL money.

BUT, for someone like him, that can be very short sighted. He knows Utah’s system. He knows he can be the leading tackler and leading INT guy. He knows if he balls out next year, he has a shot at the first round, which is where the real money is.

If he leaves…he might get more money next…[Read more]

  • A couple things about Zach.

Burrows was taken the year before and Burrows had the same career as Zach. 3-4 years of dogshit play and an incredible last year.

Then…I mean…if you own the Jets…and Wilson pans out…Joe Namath was an incredibly average QB.

But if you win a Super Bowl with Wilson…he’s beautiful, charismatic, big arm, etc.

    I ca…[Read more]

  • I don’t get the “I want to play right away” attitude. I wonder who it has worked out for?

The Mannings, maybe the smartest football family out there, sent their kid to a place where he could sit a year and get his mind/body right.

  • So…you’re telling me to worried about a team that overlooks BYU when a win will send them to the conference title game?

Again, another reason why OSU is a good team, but not a team that should worry us year in, year out. They almost lost to BYU. They did lose to some directional southern school. Yeah, they get up for big games. Much like BYU…[Read more]

Alright. One win vs a P5 team. Still absolute shit.

  • Eh. Call me unimpressed by a team that could barely handle BYU in a game that a win sends them to the Big 12 title game. They should have blown BYU like every other Big 12 team. Let’s see how they do against Texas.

  • If I’m Utah, I go all out for Brown at Ohio State. Kid played in Utah, parents still live here. Get him some cash and promise him a shot at starting from day 1. He still has four years of eligibility. So if he loses the job to Rising, you’d still have him as the starter for three years, ala Huntley/Rising.

  • Would be very disappointed if we lost:
Colorado – we are still deeper and better.
BYU – we are just better and we owe them one.
Baylor, Iowa State, Houston, ASU, SUU – Again, we are just better.

    We could lose:

Arizona. They are headed in the right direction and whipped us this year. We owe them a loss. UCF. Like Extra said, a cross country…[Read more]

  • I’m with you on a lot of things. I think had we beaten Ohio State in the Rose Bowl, Whitt would have called it a career.

That being said, I think had we beaten Penn St…Whitt would have the playoff taste in his mouth.

And with the expanded playoff format next year, the goal 100% should be playoffs. 100%.

Our toughest game next year might be…[Read more]

  • Let’s look at his QB’s:

Ratliff: 5 years in the NFL
BJ: Great college QB, soon to be NFL head coach come Feb.
    Pro Bowl QB Tyler Huntley
Cam Rising, who has won two PAC-12 titles.
Mike McCoy: 4 years in the NFL. NFL coach now.

That is pretty good. I think we ought to let Ludwig do what he does.

    QB’s at other schools:

    Ryan Lindley – 4…[Read more]

  • This and the easiest opponent possible. I want to end this year on a win.

  • Utah replied to the topic BYU TE coach fired in the forum Football 11 months, 3 weeks ago

Also, I feel bad for Rex. He wanted to be at Utah. He was talked out of it due ridiculous reasons. Had he been at Utah, he would have been the focus of the offense this year. With Kuithe out and Yassman getting hurt…he’d been our #1 target and we would have built the offense around him like we did with Kincaid.

  • Utah replied to the topic BYU TE coach fired in the forum Football 11 months, 3 weeks ago

What I find hilarious about BYU is that their best year was the year right after COVID. A year that they had no restrictions, a full schedule and a full practice leading up into the next season. While the PAC-12 was ultra-conservative with COVID…reduced games, reduced practices, etc.

BYU goes 5-0 vs the PAC-12 and thumps their chest and talks…[Read more]

If Oregon comes out focused and thinking they will lose, Oregon will win big.

If Oregon thinks they will blow UW out, then it will be a close game.

I’m ok with Barnes transferring. He played his heart out here and I love him for it. But Utah is going to do everything they can this spring to bring in players so that Barnes never steps on the field again.

Barnes has played in Rose Bowls, has been a starter, has won big games, led comebacks vs USC…he’s had quite the career at Utah.

    And he…[Read more]
