Had Oregon won…then I could see the PAC-12 being left out for: Michigan, FSU, Alabama, Texas. But Oregon didn’t, Washington did, and the choice is easy.

Yes…and no. Bowls came about before tv deals and big money. You’d play your conference games. Maybe a couple OOC games vs close by teams. But you’d never get to see Utah play a SEC or Big 10 or ACC team. You could in a bowl game.

Alright. One win vs a P5 team. Still absolute shit.

Eh. Call me unimpressed by a team that could barely handle BYU in a game that a win sends them to the Big 12 title game. They should have blown BYU like every other Big 12 team. Let’s see how they do against Texas.

If I’m Utah, I go all out for Brown at Ohio State. Kid played in Utah, parents still live here. Get him some cash and promise him a shot at starting from day 1. He still has four years of eligibility. So if he loses the job to Rising, you’d still have him as the starter for three years, ala Huntley/Rising.

Would be very disappointed if we lost:
Colorado – we are still deeper and better.
BYU – we are just better and we owe them one.
Baylor, Iowa State, Houston, ASU, SUU – Again, we are just better.

Also, I feel bad for Rex. He wanted to be at Utah. He was talked out of it due ridiculous reasons. Had he been at Utah, he would have been the focus of the offense this year. With Kuithe out and Yassman getting hurt…he’d been our #1 target and we would have built the offense around him like we did with Kincaid.

What I find hilarious about BYU is that their best year was the year right after COVID. A year that they had no restrictions, a full schedule and a full practice leading up into the next season. While the PAC-12 was ultra-conservative with COVID…reduced games, reduced practices, etc.

If Oregon thinks they will blow UW out, then it will be a close game.

I’m ok with Barnes transferring. He played his heart out here and I love him for it. But Utah is going to do everything they can this spring to bring in players so that Barnes never steps on the field again.

Barnes has played in Rose Bowls, has been a starter, has won big games, led comebacks vs USC…he’s had quite the career at Utah.
