He’s a stud. I remember playing Stanford a couple years ago and he just absolutely wrecked us. He is a star and once he gets more comfortable in the scheme…he will be dominant.

  • Utah replied to the topic Please, no more Barnes. in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago

    1. Barnes can’t pass for shit for any yards.
    2. There was always a lot of fans who didn’t like Barnes. For years.
    3. Whitt does this a lot. Remember losing to SDSU because Whitt didn’t want to bring in Rising?
    4. Don’t call me a cougar fan. That’s awful. Just awful. My biggest regret in life is if I was ever mistaken for one of those guys.

My only complaint is Cincinnati at 13. They were a G5 team. I fully expect them to fall hard the next few years. They don’t have any sort of foundation to sustain success. There is no reason for a kid from Ohio to go to Cincinnati.

  • Utah replied to the topic Baylor in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago

Baylor can throw the ball and I’m not sure we can. That alone will make it a lot closer than it should be and if it’s close late and Baylor is throwing the ball, they can win.

If Rising plays, we win and I think big.

If Rising doesn’t play, I give us 55% chance of winning, but it will be closer than it should.

  • Utah replied to the topic QB in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago

Here is the problem: Both Barnes and Johnson suck.

I posted earlier, but outside of the 70 yard bomb, the offense did NOTHING with Barnes at QB. Nothing. And te 70 yard play would have worked with Johnson as well, so that wasn’t a Barnes special or anything.

So, then the obvious answer is to play Johnson, right? Well…no. Dude can’t throw.…[Read more]

  • Unless it’s an USC QB who just chucks it deep every play…*shudders*

  • You can say the same for Utah. We were down 8 starters and played our 3rd and 4th string QB’s.

Be careful to judge Utah off that first game. They will have a lot more talent and know they have a legit chance at the playoffs this year and a big win over a future conference mate will go a long ways in recruiting and national brand to win two games…[Read more]

  • Look, Baylor sucks. With Rising throwing, we win by 30.

If he can play, play him. Tell him not to run, work on his pocket passing. Give NFL guys some good in the pocket tape.

With a Rising who can’t run, we win.

    It’s a no brainer.

  • Utah replied to the topic Utah vs Baylor in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago

1 – We are better, but we have a huge problem at QB.
2 – Johnson can move the offense with his legs, but not his arm.
3 – Barnes can’t really move the offense.

This means that our point total has huge limitations. Baylor did an ok job stopping the run.

I think this game will be a lot lower scoring than we think. I think Utah tries to do the…[Read more]

  • Colorado was so smart. They just took what TCU’s defense gave them and didn’t try to do too much. Sanders at QB threw an almost perfect game.

That’s the difference for Colorado now. They won’t beat themselves.

But they also played an incredibly simple defense. TCU showed their hand on every play. TCU went heavy to the right, Colorado went…[Read more]

  • This Colorado team has a lot of talent, but they look combustable. I could totally seeing things not going their way and half the team just quitting.

  • Utah replied to the topic Barnes and Thursday night in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago

I disagree. I’d rather go with Johnson.

    Look at Barnes’ drives:

1 play, 70 yards. Great play by Barnes. Would have been there (probably more so) with Johnson, as the defense probably bites harder on the play action to start the game if Johnson was in.

    7 plays, 36 yards, punt.

    3 plays, 4 yards. punt.

    7 plays, 14 yards, 3 points.

    5…[Read more]

  • Jackson also missed a lot of the game.

  • Ok, here is what is going on:

1 – Covey got released. He can technically sign with anyone.

BUT, what the Eagles want is this:

You have a 53 man roster. And you have a practice squad. Every Sunday (gameday) you can take two practice squad players and dress them and they can play for you. After you do this 3 (or 4, I don’t remember) times, you…[Read more]

  • Utah replied to the topic Trick Plays in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago

Yeah, that was the story. Ludwig did not call the flea flicker but Rising thought he did, so Rising called it and it was a success. Ha ha.

  • BYU won’t buy that game out. When it comes to money, they will do everything they can to hold onto every penny they can. The almighty dollar is that organization’s god.

  • Thursday night games to start the season are huge because they give you extra days to get ready for game #2. I think beating Baylor will be really, really tough but those two extra days are massive.

We get to play Florida, have a day to rest and review, and then Baylor plays and we can be prepping for them. Compare that to us being forced into a…[Read more]

It’s because the Big 12’s perception of us has been shaped by PigBusDork and BYU fans…basically the worst of the worst.

It’s just some BYU projection Pig trying to compensate. The world will right itself here soon enough.
