My expectations are more based on their returning personnel than any of their coaches. I don’t think depth is an issue we’ll need to worry about. If we lost a graduate-transfer because he wanted more playing time or a chance to start then that means we have a lot of young talent competing for a chance to play (and we do). Didn’t Booker only get something like 15 touches that game? I know we overused the guy, but if there was a time he needed the ball in his hands more it was that game.

Are you talking about last season?  Because Stanford had way more passing and rushing yards than that.  Looking at ESPN they had 625 more passing yards than we did and 753 more rushing yards.  They had nearly 1400 more yards total offense than we did and they also averaged 7 more points a game as well (37.8 to our 30.8).

I think the North runs through Stanford this year. Still not sold on Cal. They’ve run through some pretty terrible defenses so far and Washington found a way to hang around. Cal’s real first test is at Rice-Eccles in two weeks.

As for us, we sent a statement to the conference last night and now we’re going to get everyone’s best shot.

1-12 all won or were idle. 14(A&M) won, 15(OKLA) was idle, 16(ARIZ) lost, 17(NW) won a close one against ball State. I imagine we’ll probably jump to 13 or 14. If I’m in the media I tell it like it is. byu got their asses handed to them in embarrassing fashion on a national stage. Then I’d gush over Utah. Be overly complimentary. byu fans will still call, tweet, and text their complaints. Their tears will move the ratings. A win-win for everyone involved.

It’s right around this time every year that we find out the current season is really all about building for the next season.
