People who remain confused seem unwilling to accept 1 possibility: Shelley is a better QB.

If there’s mop up duty, wouldn’t you give it to Shelley since HE is the better QB and you don’t want to risk SHELLEY transferring?  Why would you even be thinking about the 3rd string kid?

Also, it’s entirely normal to only take one QB in a class, because that guarantees the kid reps.  Schools fudge that promise by taking another QB as an athlete (how we landed Shelley while recruiting other QBs) or offering another QB a gray shirt opportunity like we did with the BYU kid.

The QB also ran 150 times.  They just didn’t use a RB.

OCs who think they can scheme around any skill set are arrogant and will fail.

Give me an OC who has a system and recruits system players all day.

This is so wrong.  

1) nobody who watched Tutle play at the college level made any claims of his ability.  He was a great HS QB and a TBD college QB whose only body of work is losing out to Shelley and throwing nice balls to our 3rd string LBs in the spring game.

2) Players DECIDE to transfer a lot early than people find out.  With the new transfer clearinghouse, everybody will know as soon as a player decides to list himself.  There will be a buttload of transfer news in the next few weeks.

That’s how you knew it was all about early playing time.  When he looked like the 4th best QB behind Lisk after spring camp, the writing was on the wall.

Shelly has one less camp* than Tuttle and a hell of a lot less coaching prior to entering college.  Whatever experience advantage Shelley has is negated by having a pass-first offense.

 

*pretty sure that Shelley wasn’t an early enrollee.

The feathers suck.  They make our logo tiny in digital media and they tie us to the stupid Swoop mascot.  The circle defines our logo and brand identity more than the feathers.
