The heat wasn’t a problem for me, but I focused on good hydration. Pretty comparable to the Baylor game. Maybe a bit warmer. I am sure some found it miserable. With the way the game played out I think the heat was an advantage to the Utes. It wasn’t the hostile place the internet makes it out be, but the heat may have contributed to that. The idea that Utah isn’t used to playing in the tough Big 12 stadiums is a joke. Overall all I would say not that loud.
The OSU fans were great very welcoming and fun to talk to. Not anywhere close to arrogant and for the most part not confident before the game. Hardly anyone shouting at us that the Utes suck.

It wasn’t pass interference. Don’t let a former Baylor QB convince you otherwise.

“Utah hasn’t won a non-conference P5 game since 2017″ is a pretty misleading stat
Florida last year is the only game non-conference P5 game we have played since 2017. I find it interesting that you didn’t count your team as a P5 team. And if your team wasn’t P5 we didn’t play a P5 team in 2017 either.

The average nfl game takes 3h and 10min. And of that the average amount of actual game play (running the play) is 11 min. So when you watch football literally nothing is happening 95% of the time. You might not find the action exciting but in soccer they are playing about 50 percent of the time it takes to play the game.

It’s not just one bad season. You have to look at all of the circumstances. At media day he says he won’t be around to coach the 2027 opener. No doubt he has earned the opportunity to turn things around if he had even 5 years left. But right now he is a lame duck coach and keeping him, at least from my perspective, is a bad idea. The offense needs to be totally rebuilt and he is the wrong coach for that given his history and pending retirement.

My theory (pure speculation) is expansion is done in the the big and sec until they are due for a new tv contract. They went to 14 teams last time they signed a contract, 16 this time, I expect 18 next time and 20 the time after that. They are constantly trying to create more value. ACC teams were not available in this window but will be next time. Every decision is about making the most money they can right now. We will have to see which teams provide the most value when the time comes. The only thing Utah can do is keep winning and building our brand.

Most of the research done by universities is not science. They collect money to research a hypothesis. If they can confirm what the person with the money wants, it gets published. If it doesn’t it gets put in the trash. Science is about questioning, and searching for the truth. That is rarely done any more. Everyone says they are following the science or what experts say but is what they really mean is we are following what the experts that agree with me say. And then they sensor the other side of the argument. Universities are like any other business. They are there to make money. No football is about the lawyers concern for liability. If the data was being followed everything would be open and we would be back to normal.
