  • I have heard laceration and x ray was negative. That could mean stitches on the index finger? If that’s the case let it heal. It could be healed or at not in danger of making it worse plus the pain and grip on his throwing hand.

I’m sure Whitt will let us know his status. Not.

Great points. Freshman QBs always struggle at some point. Mainly on the road with crowd noise and the home team amping the defense to force mistakes.

Whitts defensive pressure on freshman QBs is always noticeable.

  • Does anyone know the extent of Cams injury? I think that will determine if he plays or not. If he has any chance of reinjuring his hand sit him.

Sure he needs reps but we need him healthy for OSU reguardless of the rust. He has lots of big game experience and Wilson would be like a deer in the headlights.

  • Singer looks great to me. He will get better each game learning the system and getting the timing down.

The combination of him and Parks are money! We just need to get them the ball. Nick Saban said on the college game day that big plays are must to win games now. You can’t depend on the run and short passing game. That’s proven true in our fir…[Read more]

  • I heard Whitt say the same thing proud Ute. He also said the team needs to step up when Rising is out. They looked sluggish the second half. Part of the Rising mystic is his ability to get the team energized. Wilson is a true freshman and he needs to have a good game to get his confidence and the team to play hard when he is in the game.

  • Didn’t he give an up to the minute detail on Risings injury? Haha never

Building the right culture takes time and extra effort. The older players teach work ethic to the younger guys. Transfers leave because of playing time or to be part of a better culture. That has become our best recruiting sales pitch.

  • Wow. Interesting viewpoint and numbers to back it up. Seems every year it takes us a few games to get in rhythm and find our identity on offense and defense. A lot comes down to leadership and a great QB. We are a totally different team when Rising is on the field.

Colorado is proof you can’t win with portal players.New players every year don’t know the offense and defense. Recruit and develop is still the focus of top teams (Utah). The portal can provide depth and fill a weakness.

We haven’t played a conference game yet. We are playing in a conference where we have a chance every year to make the playoffs.

  • Difference is size. We don’t have that big bruiser that can get an extra couple of yards. Mitchell doesn’t seem to have size. We have speed and when Rising is on the field that speed becomes more of a factor.

Bottom line is with Rising speed is more important. Wilson on the field we need power running game. The offense is built for Rising let…[Read more]

I believe they were playing a 4-3 on defense. Barton Reid Fotu were in at the same time. Could be wrong.

  • Go Aggies!! I always root for the Aggies unless they play us.

  • Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic Baylor in the forum Football 1 month, 1 week ago

Heat could play a factor. 90 + degrees tomorrow!! Depth could come in to play. Both lines will get tested. Baylor is used to the heat plus humidity. It played a factor last year in Waco. Will that affect the offense or defense more? We are much better offensively than last year. Bring your sombreros tomorrow. Go Utes

  • Wow interesting stats Yergie. Hopefully they are setting up teams to concentrate on the TE and give the WR more room and 1 on 1 coverage. Singer and Parks have the speed to go deep. Big plays Saturday. 🤞

  • Nice post aloha. Nice to hear some baseball talk. I was a huge baseball fan until the strike . Haven’t watched much since.i started coaching my grandsons babe ruth team a couple years ago and it put the spark back in me. I will check out the padres. Haven’t seen any padres games. Thanks

I agree loyter. Why go at all. Seems much easier to support your team from the couch. These damn message board guys should just find something better to do than root for their team. Who cares if the stadium is empty at kickoff.

I’m sure the players would much rather have the stadium empty so they don’t have to put up with all that noise.

  • Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic Broken record in the forum Football 1 month, 2 weeks ago

Yes south end zone was easy last game. If you don’t wait until 15 minutes before game time when all the tailgaters come at the same time. Then it can be 10-15 wait. Moral of the story get there early and beat the rush!! Grab a hot dog and eat in your seat before kickoff. Go utes

  • Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic Broken record in the forum Football 1 month, 2 weeks ago

My suggestion for the tailgaters is to fire off an air horn for the 45 minute warning. Start packing up. 30 minute horn to get the stadium. It’s interesting how the east side sees the west side. I sit on the west side and it looks pretty full but hard to tell. The east side from the west side view looks half full at kickoff. Spread the word.

I listened to the Baylor play by play guy on the radio. They have a sixth year senior QB that played for Toledo for 5 years. He can run and make plays.

This game isn’t a slam dunk. They want revenge from last year. It will be a good test for what we will encounter in league play. I’m excited to see how we do against a formidable opponent. Tim…[Read more]
