I’ve watched two games New Mexico and Kstate. Ghost recapped it nicely. Good QB 2 good running backs NFL wide receiver. A lot of big chunk plays. QB is short and has a gun. We have to double McMillan when possible. Contain the qb in the pocket and get a push with the D line. He is elusive and finds the throwing lanes. Their defense gave up 39 to N…[Read more]

Great points Rick. I think as stbone pointed out he seemed to regress. He has a slow delivery and teams started sending 6 that could still stop the run but forced him to hurry and he didn’t have time pick up a second receiver.
Arizona will do the same with Wilson. Hopefully Ludwig has some quick throws to beat the one on one coverage that B…[Read more]

I agree with Barnes regression and the receivers being responsible.I think teams were stacking the box and bringing 6 guys almost every play and Barnes was slow with reads and delivery. Singer and Parks are extremely quick and get open sooner.

Otahni has scored 129 runs vs Acuna 149 runs in 2023.

Both amazing. Runs scored also might play in a little. 70 stolen bases should produce more runs scored however 10 more home runs is 10 more runs scored. Great question uterule. If Ohtani was pitching it would be a no brainer. Acuna is a good defensive player so I might have to give the nod to Acuna based on over all production.

I didn’t watch game film but being at the games I didn’t see a lot of separation. Some yes but Barnes held the ball because nobody was open. He was definitely slow processing. As a WR if the quarterback can’t get you the ball you probably tend to not run the route full speed.
Anyway you look at it the passing game was not a big threat. Singe…[Read more]

I think last year we didn’t have receivers who could separate from the defense and a bad running game. JJ was always hurt and Bernard was out leaving Glover as the main back. Also new tight ends and an offensive line that couldn’t handle the stacked box on defense
Singer and Parks can get separation and we have 3 or 4 TEs. Bernard is back wit…[Read more]

That has to be theme going forward. Cam could miss another game and we still need to win this one. Could be a blessing in disguise if Cam returns after the bye healthy and with rested legs and arm. It’s a long season and we have proven this year that Wilson can get some wins. With a much weaker schedule this year and Cams return coming soon t…[Read more]

Who cares if he redshirts at this point. He is our top QB until Cam returns. Redshirt year ended when Cam went out. Too bad that was probably the plan going in to the season.

It’s fun to see someone with a passion for baseball Alohaute. The overlapping of football in to baseball season really hurts MLB. Football has become king. I remember growing up in the 60s baseball was king.
I used to run home from school to catch the last couple innings. Playoffs and World Series were the best. Yankees (my adopted team) and D…[Read more]

I think a lot of us older Utah fans think back to the 70’s and 80’s blowouts. Especially at home. The BYU players would taunt the student section. The BYU fans would show up to RES and act like they owned us and it was their home field.
I remember one year about 30-50 BYU students marched past the tailgating lot chanting Utah sucks. Luckily for…[Read more]

Good points proud Ute. The key to beating Arizona is stopping Fifita and Mcmillian. Make someone else beat you. Fifita is short and our d line can get a push inside and get your hands up. Keep him in the pocket. Our offense should able to score plenty of points to win.

They had already beaten us down. They dominated us all game. No reason to taunt and rub it in. Big win for them and their program leave it at that.

I’m with you Nashville Ute. I have followed the Aggies since I was a kid. My brother went there and a couple high school friends played football there. I’m happy they have a safe landing spot. Go Aggies

It was not just the coach. The players were just as guilty. Maybe Whitt vs Fisch but it was much more than that. Ask any player.

Great post Tarheelute. Normally I could see this being a trap game after the OSU battle in the heat and a bye coming up. Thanks to “in your face” bomb at the end of a blow out game it won’t be an issue.
Whitt dismissed it but his body language told a different story. It got me a little pumped up. Every coach and player that played in that game…[Read more]

Common man. Cougarboard constantly throws their own LDS brothers under the bus that go to U of U. Threads talking about LDS students that go to the U end up dropping out of the church and drinking and partying.
They can dish it out but they can’t take it. I agree religion should play no part in sports. We have great LDS Ute fans that love and s…[Read more]

We are 4-0 just won our most feared game on the road with a true freshman QB. Wilson has gotten playing time and has proven he can be a capable backup. Rising is the leader. Nobody on the coaching staff and team would deny his leadership.
We need him this week vs Arizona but if he is not ready Wilson will be ready. It’s a long season and w…[Read more]
