Whitt has earned the right to turn the ship around. I hope he is successful!!

I thought Whitt would retire regardless of record. Something has changed in his thinking to make him stay. He must think he has enough talent to turn things around and not start a rebuild. First time in years he comes in as an underdog which he seems to thrive on.

Take the most athletic players and let them play. Height doesn’t matter if you can’t guard the other players or get a rebound. Recruit athletes and develop them.

Recruit some athletes and develop them. Height means nothing if you’re not athletic. Big 12 is athletic and physical. Hard to score against those teams. Our ski team isn’t going to cut it.

2024 was a disaster. Picked to finish first and Whitt wanted to retire a winner. It seemed to motivate Sitake more after a losing season. We will soon find out.

The coaching staff (Whitt in particular) will be highly motivated. Hopefully that will transfer to the remaining players from last year that want redemption. A new simpler offense will help the new recruits and transfers. We go from front runners to underdogs.

ASU win would have been a good argument for 2 Big 12 teams next year. Now back to square one.

The Big12 top teams are middle of the pack SEC. Until the money and exposure gets on a level playing field nothing will change. Too much discrepancy in talent and depth. $$$ = talent. Imagine the NFL without caps and rules. Owner with the deepest pockets would win.

Yep Miami it’s southern BYU (the devil cougs) One good year and they start chirping. Good teams let their play do the talking.

Lots of trash talk by ASU. Can they defeat the old blue blood Big 12 team? I’m going Longhorns.

Winning matters. We poached them when they were down now it’s their turn. They have an advantage with the LDS kids especially the RMs. We have an advantage of non LDS kids. Money can trump both.

Good post krindor. BYU must have a better political science program. He might have a future in politics. He can be bought and is all talk. He said all the right things to win the fans over at Utah then sells out to the rival.

Who’s in? Who’s out? Who has the most money? Who is tampering? Why is he being paid more than me? The new world of portal and NIL is rearing its ugly head. It’s unsustainable without rules and caps. Nobody is blaming players for trying to get more money elsewhere. ADs and coaches have been doing it for years. Bottom line: there is a lot of talen…[Read more]

I’m with you steel. Jumping ship to your rival is not a good look. Fano brothers and Daily coming over from TDS definitely lit a fire under them. Players just want to get paid more but coaches and fans take it personally. Whitt and Scalley have to be upset and highly motivated to beat them next year.

With the portal open we were better
off not going to a bowl this year. Coaches can focus on recruiting instead of a meaningless game. -

Interesting thought Urban. I’ve had season tickets for 50 years and the combination of high expectations and NIL made this past season the hardest. I never booed but lots around me did and it didn’t bother me. I don’t think you should ever boo your own team but when you get paid to pay it opens you up for criticism.

I have been blessed to be a part of the Utah football family. I want to thank the coaches and university for all the memorable seasons and bowl games. That being said I will be entering the portal. As a fan I’ve narrowed my choices to Ohio State, Oregon, Georgia or whoever wins the CFP. I can save $6000 a year in tickets and be a national c…[Read more]
