Trucks, more NIL money, playing time guaranteed etc etc. Lost in all the madness is a free education and life changing experience at a quality university. The entitlement has gone off the charts.
In a perfect world all scholarship players (in revenue generating sports) should get an equal amount of money per month as compensation for their…[Read more]

Coach McBride was on with Hans and is still connected with the program. He said Harding and Whittingham were untouchable as far as recruiting and being great position coaches. I focused in on the receivers several games to see if they were getting open. Part of the reason Wilson held the ball so long is nobody had separation. The DBs were allowed…[Read more]

It will boil down to which position coach has the most talent and if they can get the players to stay. Our obvious weakness was QB and RB with WR not to far behind. Beck takes care of QBs. RB room a disaster so Ganther is on the hot seat. Keeping Williams is a big deal. If he goes WR coach should be gone too. Whittingham and Harding should stay.

Just trying to lighten the mood. It’s amazing how we’ve gone from winning the conference and sending our beloved coach into the sunset with a CFP birth to a Losing season and wanting Whitt to retire. My how things can change.

The pieces are still there to have a good defense. Offense needs a new direction to keep our best players.

I was joking. Benedict Arnold was a traitor. Going to Texas from Oklahoma would be a traitor move.

Any relation to Benedict Arnold? He’ll probably go to Texas.

I heard from a former coach that the strength coach is to old school and doesn’t use flexibility training enough.

He did nothing at USC last year with the top QB in the nation. So maybe part was him not getting open. Williams seemed to be open more than Singer the last two games.

Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic Zacharyus Williams – nice game in the forum Football 3 weeks, 4 days ago
I agree. Pitman never showed any talent even when healthy. If the playbook is too hard to understand year after year maybe it needs to be simplified so the talented young players can get some reps.
We lacked a big body WR all year with Pittman, Parks and Singer. Small sample but Williams looks good to me. I hope the last couple games springboard…[Read more]

If Wilson transfers it makes things even worse because it cost Rose valuable experience. If Wilson stays at least one of our QBs for next year got some game experience.
For a team that had lost 7 straight and not bowling they played hard and never gave up. I hope we keep our good players and fill in a few weaknesses with the portal. We lose 21…[Read more]

Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic Reason #638462 Yormark is a hack and the Big 12 sucks. in the forum Football 3 weeks, 5 days ago
I agree McMahon. Yormark was aggressive and saved the Big 12. Kliakoff expected ESPN and Fox to cave in and give the Pac 12 the money they wanted. The west coast time zone doesn’t draw the eyeballs and especially when you take USC and Oregon out (similar to Ok and Texas).
It came down to who could get the first deal as it turned out. The Big 1…[Read more]

It’s all about the money. Culture still matters but not like it used to. The 4* and 5* look for highest bidder while the 3* look for culture. Whitt has stated several times if you want to compete with the big boys you need $$. Without $$ you’ll be mediocre. Our system of culture and development doesn’t work anymore. A good QB will cost you 1-3 m…[Read more]

How do you guys feel about these November 8:30 time slots? Seems you are getting most of them. I think it was 2018 or 2019 when we had to play Colorado last game of the year at 8:30 in 20 degree weather and then having to play Oregon for the CCG the following Friday. We had multiple injuries and illnesses after the game. It had a huge effect on…[Read more]

Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic Your MBB looks better than expected. Madsen is a heck of a shooter. in the forum Basketball (Men) 4 weeks, 1 day ago
I think Majerus sabotaged the program when he left. He left the next coach with no talent. Without a portal a rebuild would take years. A lot of Ute fans bought Jazz tickets because of their success. We’ve been mediocre with the exception of a couple years. The PAC 12 was not a big basketball conference. We are now in the best BB conference.…[Read more]

You missed my point. It had nothing to do with your attendance. Our attendance has been horrible. I wondered if NIL money could help our attendance. We’ve been down for so long it would take something big to bring it back. Jazz being down could possibly help.

Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic Whitt’s Decision in the forum Football 4 weeks, 1 day ago
Doesn’t he have a consultant contract? Scalley could be HC and Whitt could still be involved in a consulting role.
Coach in waiting shouldn’t last over a year. I think the plan was make the CFP and retire.

Nothing that a few million in NIL money can’t solve. We just need to find a couple big donors to get (buy) good players.
It would be interesting to see what our attendance would be if we had the same situation as BYU.
