  • I miss those midnight walks back to the car when it’s 20 degrees. Nov noon games are good. Neon deon will have a melt down if they have to play a late night in late November. All his warm weather transfers will hate the cold.

How about some positive big 12 signs. Instead of we are better than you idiots on social media. Let’s show the big twelve we embrace them. Big 10 ducks vs big twelve Utes!! Let’s not be USC of the big twelve.

  • Thanks Eagle that was awesome. We have a blue collar coach and team. It’s fun to see others perspective that sometimes we take for granted. Being tough doesn’t always mean wins but that’s how the NFL plays and if you can play for the Utes that attitude will transfer to the nfl. Great recruiting advantage.

Good post Charlie. The last two games with Barnes being the “only” qb and getting the reps and game plan around him has made a huge difference. The two qb plan doesn’t work. Especially when they have different strengths.

I can see now why Whitt had confidence that Barnes could fill in a few games. I’m sure he might have thought differe…[Read more]

  • Good point Miami lets send him to the showers with an L. He is a front runner. Hard to beat when things are going his way. Fall apart when things don’t go his way.

I think it’s a classic case of entitlement. He thinks he is better than everyone else. Riley has been the instigator.

  • If rumors are true Riley wants to go to the nfl and his team hears the rumors will they play hard for him? Has Caleb gotten bigger than the team? Can they regroup after Norte dame loss?

  • I agree with Tony. Drop off in tackling. Bishop makes a lot of tackles in space. Ritchie is good. Bishop is exceptional.

This game is scary. USC is out for blood. They don’t want the backlash from their fans if they lose. They want to humiliate us.

They will come out aggressive and try to get an early lead. Whitt loves being the underdog. If we can keep the first half close get Bishop back and wear them down we have a chance. Go Utes

    Classic pic!!!

  • Good points at at stbone and 22. I would also add the development of Vaki and Bishop. Those two might be the best tackling safeties in the country.

I think they will test Ritchie early. Make him tackle in space. Also test the corners deep. They have some good playmakers that can score quick.

Last year in the CCG we did a good job of containing Williams from getting outside. Keep him in the pocket. We can get a good push inside and pressure him from the middle and throw in some middle blitzes

  • I agree USC will loose at least 2 games.

  • Fun posts to read. Thanks Miami for the USC fan board update .

This game big for them. They are still undefeated in conference and can’t afford to loose another game to make it to the CFP.

USC players coaches and fans have had this game circled since we kicked their ass in the CCG. We ruined their playoff hopes. We are 1-5 at the coliseum since joining the pac 12. They believe they should never lose to lowly Utah from the MWC.

Whitt loves being the underdog. Having his back against the wall. They know if they can score early get a…[Read more]

  • Thanks Miami!! Interesting numbers. Since viewership rules college football. We need to stay relevant to have a shot at the super league.

Side note: Sanders was complaining about 8:00 pm start. Wait until he gets an 8:30 November game. He will head back to Florida or the south. Remember the infamous late night Utah -Wyoming game with Urban? He…[Read more]

I don’t disagree Charlie. I think we will see first half how much we miss Bishop. The backups are really good at safety and lb. They are inexperienced and playing against USC is not a good time to see.

Barton Vaki and Bishop are exceptional. They might be able to sneak a play or two in with Barton at TE. USC is licking their chops at our inept offense.

Outstanding discussion. Lots of valid points. Let’s all respect each other’s opinions even if you disagree.”Nobody’s right if everybodys wrong”. Buffalo Springfield would say.

My 2 cents is we have seen the most success over the years with power backs. TT JJ Moss Booker etc. Why recruit smaller running backs that have different styles and expec…[Read more]

I agree red rocks. USC has toughest offense ( besides Washington) to defend. They spread the field and make safeties and dbs tackle in space. Vaki and Bishop are all American type talents along with Barton.

Richie Snowden backup lbs are not the same caliber. Wearing out our best defenders on offense gives them twice the chance of injury or lose…[Read more]

Good point Charlie. It’s amazing how much better the O line becomes with a few completed passes.

  • Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic vaki in the forum Football 1 year ago

Vaki is to valuable on defense. Cal is not USC. USC spreads the field and the defensive backfield has more space to cover. He will get worn out on D. Ludwig surprised Cal but USC will be ready.

With Bishop out the first half we need him to play well. Richie is going to get tested early. He can certainly help on offense which we need but I think…[Read more]
