Players like Bishop and Vaki are hard to find. Bummer we couldn’t get them to stay 1 more year to make a playoff run. Safeties are key to the defense.

I agree. I keep hearing scrimmage and nobody is playing. I wouldn’t be surprised if at least 15 of the starters in the Vegas bowl start next year. It’s a head start for next for some of new starters to get some playing time and impress their position coaches. I’m anxious to see how they play.

I might agree more with you eagle if everyone was coming back. I see 6-8 open spots next year. Second on the depth chart move up. They will be hungry to prove to the coaches they are ready. Barnes I agree unless he is considering staying.
I’d rather have everyone back next year and not take a chance on injury. They are gone and need replaced. W…[Read more]

Proud Ute posted 12/08 that Whitt said in his presser that Rose could play without losing eligibility. Barnes would start Rose and Bottari would back up. Seems to be some confusion.
I don’t see this game as a scrimmage. I see the young guys out to prove they are ready to start next year. Northwestern will be pumped so we better be ready to a…[Read more]

What should we expect from the Vegas bowl? Should we start Rose and get a feel for his abilities? (My vote) or showcase Barnes so he can get picked by another team.
It would be nice to see everyone coming back next year play unless they are not fully healthy. We have lots of backups that will be in the mix for starting rolls next year. (OL…[Read more]

I shutter when Worster and Erickson are dribbling and handling the ball late in games. Neither can get separation from the defender. We play better when we run our offense and move the ball inside out.
It will become our weakness again in conference play. Smith would be a huge help. If I were coaching against us I would pressure the guards. If…[Read more]

Erickson looks like a really good rec or Westminster guard. Not a D1 tournament guard.

I agree palos verdes. It’s been this way for two years. Have we recruited a real point guard or have one on the roster? I don’t see it. I put the blame on coach Smith.
He coached Worster at USU and knew his limitations. Teams have gotten more and more athletic on defense each year. At this level you better have some athletic guards to match up.…[Read more]

Keba was awesome. It was fun watching him play with passion. We are a much better team with him in the game.

Bajema looks out of place. He is a less version of Madsen. Can shoot but can’t drive or handle the ball.
First time I’ve seen this team play with passion and desire. It was fun to watch. Maybe they need a big crowd and rivalry game to get them going.
We play good when we move the ball and get the ball inside to our bigs. Thats our str…[Read more]

That game gave me heart failure. At least we gutted it out. We need a ball handler.

Miami make sure the concessions hide the Mountain Dew and ice cream. Their students are already out of control. Go Utes

I’m expecting a win. We struggle against quick guards. We match up with their guards. We have a size advantage if we take advantage. Give Keita some big PT they can’t stop him inside.

I wish both sides would be more respectful. Especially if you’re a guest! You get a bunch of students together and it becomes a shit show.

So true proud Ute. The years of futility and the slow climb to the top has been amazing. More than I ever dreamed. Next year could have been the pinnacle. Only a select few can reload year after year and make a playoff run.
Michigan is where I hoped we would be next year. Lots of 4-6 year guys that all come back for a championship run. Hoping to…[Read more]
