Cal started a red shirt freshman against OSU. He played ok at home with a small crowd. He has not played in a hostile environment yet. Freshman QBs have not fared well RES.
I’m sure the odds makers know this fact and the Utes will be hungry to avenge their loss at home.
Million dollar question is how will our offense respond? Odds makers g…[Read more]

Did you check his nil deal with USC? Just trying to lighten things up. Thanks for the Dr. info.

Whitt has put the turnover fear on him. Which makes him tentative. Doesn’t seem to be able to get the ball in tight spots and the receivers can’t get open and space for him to throw.
He proved he is a gamer against OSU which is a bug positive. He might surprise us all!!

Perfect storm for Whitt. He rolled the dice on Cam and Brandt. Under estimated the backup RBs and QBs. Possibly the best Pac 12 top half of all time.

Wonder if Cams doctor was on the chess team at USC. Cam will be cleared the day after the USC game. Just kidding!! His reputation is on the line. Do you blame him for not clearing Cam?
When is college football going make teams list injury reports like the NFL. Whitt has gone way overboard with Cams status. He knew the extent of the injury. Why…[Read more]

Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic Cal game – 1 P.M. kick on P12 Network in the forum Football 1 year, 5 months ago
Fall is a busy time for kids and grandkids playing football and soccer. Night games are better for September October when it’s warm and to avoid conflicts.
November December day games are better for obvious reasons. Too bad the networks and money dictate what’s best for us the fans. Wouldn’t it be nice if we actually had input?

Agree Proud Ute. It’s disappointing to not know week in and week out who will play and what the injuries are. Whitt has been consistent with the injury report for years.
The number of injuries and number of key players being out is unusual. The pac 12 is better than ever this year. We need Cam and JJ to have a chance at a run.
Trying to stay p…[Read more]

Good point Ghost. The Cam or bust ends with Cal. Either he is in or out. If out let’s see what the young bucks can do.

Thanks EM. I think some of us old timers have a different expectation and hope. I’ve only missed a handful of home games since 1973 when I was a student. So have seen all the highs and lows. It’s been a fun ride. Fortunately there was no social media in the 70’s or we would have had a real reason to bitch. 2-5 win seasons against WAC oppon…[Read more]

Bye couldn’t come at a better time for both the team and the fans. The potential was there for a great year. We won four games on next man up and a stellar defense.
Reality has taken over. Best case Cam and JJ come back and we make run. Worst case we developed our young QBs and Rbs. Think positive and let’s support each other and the team. I’m…[Read more]

I agree Rising Cam. Rumors are rumors. Whitt has stated multiple times that Cam is the “Alpha Dog”. He will play when he is ready. People posting on this board that had ACL’s have stated 9 month minimum and 12 month being the norm.
Cam knows his body better than us. His team mates see him everyday. We all had high hopes Kuithe and Cam would…[Read more]

Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic So what would you do if your were the coach? in the forum Football 1 year, 5 months ago
It’s obvious they don’t trust NJ with the ball. I agree if you’re going to play him what do you have to lose? We’ve scored 14 points in two games. Turn him loose and see what he can do. He’s a gamer and showed it against OSU.

Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic So what would you do if your were the coach? in the forum Football 1 year, 5 months ago
If I were Whitt right now I would do the same thing he has been doing all year. Hope Cam can play so we can open the offense up. Hope JJ can play so we can get back to 4 yards instead of two on first down.
Next best option punt!!
If the punter goes out. See what Rose can do and start looking for a portal qb for next year.

Jim Vanderhoof replied to the topic Historical Reference in the forum Football 1 year, 5 months ago
I was there in the Tom Lovat-Howard era. That’s why I have a hard time with all the complaining. We are lucky to have such a great program. 1-5 win seasons were the norm back then. It’s not like we have a long tradition that’s for sure. 20 year run has been pretty sweet.

Thanks for the tip. I’m a little tech challenged!! Scalley looked exhausted. I’m sure all these injuries are wearing them out. They truly love and care about the players. How can you not root for Barnes.
