      HAPPY GAME WEEK!

This subject again? From an original Big 12 member/outsider:

We’re all in a worse situation. We’d rather play OU and Texas than Utah and Arizona. And we know you’d rather play USC and Oregon than OSU and KSU. It just seems that Ute fans have been the loudest about it. All of us small market teams are eating a turd sandwich out here while the Alabamas and Ohio States grab up more money and more power. Let’s just play football!

Sounds like a lot of Utes coming to Stillwater for the game. I love it! But I’m going to have to bring more beer…

Also, yes, as someone said SeatGeek is your best bet now. And there are a few rooms left for that weekend it looks like. The best/closest hotel I found with vacancy was the Best Western Plus Cimarron Hotel & Suites. It’s just East of the stadium and walking distance to campus.

According to the SP+ ratings, which take into account a team’s opponents and adjusts for other variables to measure efficiency, Oklahoma State has the 11th ranked offense and 45th ranked defense. Utah has the 35th ranked offense and 11th ranked defense. Strength on strength! It’s going to be a great game. I’m excited.

As said above, I don’t know how much we can take away from each teams’ non-con schedule. I think we’ll know a lot more in the next few weeks.

We’ve been facing teams stacking the box with 1 or 2 extra defenders. Gundy’s been fine with taking what they’re giving and taking the win without showing much. He’s well known around here for treating the non-conference schedule like that. It’s probably very much like you guys’ games so far. This weekend, I’ll bet we see a real Gundy vs. Whittingham chess match. And again, if anyone wants directions to my tailgate. Drop me a message!

This. One, maybe two non-conference games is all you should expect to be on ESPN+ for football. What I love about ESPN+ is I can watch all the Big 12 baseball, softball, soccer, wrestling, and basketball too.

Yeah, Tulsa isn’t a bad drive at all. There will be plenty of lots close to campus where you can pay to park. For that game, I’m sure you’ll be paying $40-70 for the closer parking, though. There is in fact a shuttle from downtown. I’ll post a very informative link below. But here’s what it says about the shuttle:

“Catch the shuttle at 7th and Lewis in Downtown Stillwater for free, round-trip service to Boone Pickens Stadium starting 3 hours before the game and continuing until 30 minutes after kick-off. Shuttles will resume in the 3rd quarter and continue for a minimum of 30 minutes postgame – or until lines are gone.”

Literally everything you’ll need to know here:

As far as food. You’ll have to stop by the Eskimo Joe’s area for at least a beer. That block also has a great dive bar (that will be packed) called George’s Stables and a restaurant called The Garage Burgers and Beer down the street. You’ll be offered great free food from just about every tailgate, though. We OSU fans are great hosts. There will also be food trucks, tents, etc. set up all over. Hideaway Pizza is the second most popular game day restaurant and it’s a block south of the Joe’s area!

South of campus is Washington Street or “The Strip” as we call it. It has all the college bars and a few restaurants as well. Willie’s Saloon is where Garth Brooks got his start. The Copper Penny across the street has a drink called a “Limey” and trust me you’ll only need one. Outlaws down the street if you want to two step or line dance. Shots if you want to play pool. The Union or College Bar if you want to get cheap drinks. And finally Murphy’s if you want to finish the night under some neon palm trees.

Yes! So excited to have you all!

IMO, the seats on the far East side of the stadium closer to the basketball arena, Gallagher-Iba, are at a bad angle and are in the sun for a portion of the game making it uncomfortable in an Oklahoma September. Unless you sit higher up which it sounds like you don’t want to do. Yeah, our stadium runs East-West. Other than that, there’s not a bad seat in the place.

You can enter the stadium bowl from two levels. Because you won’t want to climb many stairs, I’d look for tickets in the 100’s or single digit sections. I’ll post a link to the seating chart below.

As my name suggests, my tailgate is set up on a street called Knoblock. It runs right into the stadium. We’re also on the corner of Elm, which runs right into Eskimo Joe’s. So stop by!

Utah game is sold out, but the OSU Athletics website will have links to Seat Geek where you can find third party tickets.

Looks to be plenty of seats near exits in the West end zone!

Right, but that inventory came from somewhere else. Supply of games remained roughly the same.
