Mean Phoenix, Rune, Jagertown, Velcro Strip, Solid Gold, Party Rockers, Pop Jockeys, Dirty Old Men (current)…
Those are the bands in Utah. I might have missed one or two.

Good guys, for the most part. Loyal following.
I’ve shared the stage with them three times over the years, I think, with the first one being back in 2007-8 or thereabouts. We were opening for them for an outdoor festival type gig in the Tooele area. Their bassist actually FORGOT his bass, and had to borrow mine to play the gig. (Said bassist has…[Read more]

So I may have completely missed this…
Last night I wanted to go into Chat during the basketball game, and noticed it’s turned off until Football?
Just out of curiosity, Tony, is that because the functionality is expensive from a resource perspective?

Does anyone have a stream of the game I can tap into?

That would be a great idea if I didn’t want the paper version, for sure.
I actually use the digital version for myself. The paper version is for my girlfriend and my mom, so I can give them copies of the journal on occassion.
Paper or Digital is the same price – both is just an addition 15-20% over the one. So it’s not that much more expensive to get both. -

I understand your perspectives, and see why you reach the conclusions you do. Two sides to every coin, I suppose.
While we do disagree on many points, I also agree that he was complimentary of the school and handled himself well.

@tony, @skinyute, I gotta ask…
Were you surprised at how Katatonia LOOKS as compared to their music?
Their image just doesn’t match their sound. They’re not metal. They’re not death metal. They’re just… ambience music. It’s his voice.
I just don’t understand their image.

OK, I’m just about done listening to this.
A few points:
1. He says he needs time to develop a quarterback – that he only had 1 year with Travis Wilson, and 1 year with Troy Williams. But… these guys are only there for AT MOST 3-4 years as starters. And more often than not, less than that. How much time does he need???
2. He also says that he…[Read more]

@admin Tony, give me some song suggestions for No-Man and Blackfield, would you?
Some of my favorite Porcupine Tree songs are Sound of Muzak, Glass Arm Shattering, Lazarus, etc. so that should give you an idea of the style of Steven Wilson’s stuff I like – though I like it all, I guess…. ha!

It was in my driveway when I was in school. I wonder if something’s changed and it’s now by mail?
I’ll have to check the mailbox. They said they guaranteed it would be delivered today. Nothing yet.

So when I was in Grad school (EMBA program at the U), I had a subscription to the WSJ included with my program enrollment. I got both the paper and digital versions of the WSJ.
So on December 20th I decided to give myself a subscription to the WSJ again for a Christmas present. I subscribed to both the digital and paper versions, as my mom, son,…[Read more]

Tony @admin, I was there too! WHAT A SHOW!!!! It was amazing!
I’ve been a fan of Porcupine Tree for years and years. As a musician, the amount of respect I have for Steven Wilson is hard to describe. He’s freakin’ amazing.
I will be traveling to see him again when he comes across the pond in the future. Perhaps we plan a road trip! -

Steven Wilson’s latest album “Hand. Cannot. Erase.” is pretty darn cool.
The whole album is cool, really. Here’s a playlist of it.

Troy Taylor said Kyle Whittingham hired him with the promise of "just having me do what I do." He's wholesale installing his system at Utah.
