Any word on what it will look like driving up I-15 from Southern Utah Saturday?

I saw a tweet the other day that said refs will be from either the Big12 or MWC conference, but I can’t find it now.

St George Ute replied to the topic Worst fall season ever for USC? in the forum Football 6 years ago
Simply put, many of the players on USC’s roster have a sense of entitlement and don’t want to put in the work to earn their spot. Much of it comes from years of being told how good they are, that they’ll play in the NFL, parents moving them to teams/schools if they aren’t automatically given the #1 spot, etc.
Hence the term University of Spoiled…[Read more]

Good point. He can sit. He’s done his duty for the season.

This season I don’t mind playing them, and at the end of the regular season to boot. It gives Shelley, Shyne, Green, Brumfield, Wood, and others 4 more quarters of live action to prepare for the championship game. My only wish is that it was earlier in the day, or even Friday night.
Historically, I’d be worried about dirty play by them, but…[Read more]

Funny how the “data” used in one of the posters arguments in support of their position is from 2003-2012.

St George Ute replied to the topic BYU-p fans afraid of RES, is it for good reason? in the forum Football 6 years ago
Exactly!
Zoobs are so wildly oversensitive to cursing, any consumption of alcohol, criticism (especially if it involves religion), smack talk, etc. that it’s gets overexaggerated to the point of absurdity.

St George Ute replied to the topic FS1 Late Game Question in the forum Football 6 years ago
I’ve only seen them broadcast on the FoxSportsGo app if the game before runs over the start time. That was for a broadcast on FS2 though. Not sure if FS1 would broadcast on FS2 or FX.

St George Ute replied to the topic Hey, how has your life changed since 2009? in the forum Football 6 years ago
Finished grad school, started working from home, turned 40, moved to St George, built a house, had cataract surgery, two of my kids are now adults, one moved out and is now pregnant with our first grandchild, and I got to watch Utah go to the PAC12, win a division title, and beat BYU 7 times in a row (so far).
Life is good!

Meh, doesn’t bother me. Having seen these at T-Mobile Arena in Vegas, they’re actually pretty cool. I can see them being used especially for visiting dignitaries during opening/closing ceremonies of the 2030 Olympics. I imagine they’ll likely put the band at the front of the MUSS.

The two boxes coming up from field level look like the loge boxes they referred to in the press release. Premium boxes that usually include about 4 executive level seats with tables and/or countertops. It’s high class seating with someplace to put your food.

I just saw some SEZers complaining on the Facebook and Twitter posts about being pushed up to the top of the section. I’m just thinking it might be feasible to move the MUSS a little south, to fill in that spot in the new SE corner and free up Section E38 for the SEZers. Was just a thought.
Sounds like the SEZ ticket holders are being given the…[Read more]

I say move the visitors to the top of the SW corner (those new bleacher seats). That will push them farther from the field, making them a little quieter. Then move the SEZ season ticket holders to the existing visitors section. I’m sure there will be some upset SEZers, but you can’t satisfy everyone.
I wonder what they’ll do with the MUSS and…[Read more]

St George Ute replied to the topic Stadium expansion was approved, press conference tomorrow in the forum Football 6 years ago
Ah, that makes sense. I do hope the Olympic committee helps cut the cost.
Running some numbers (and purely based on my own speculation of number of proposed premium seats, ticket prices for new seats, etc.), I don’t see how they do it without increasing season ticket prices by $100 or more. That’s if they set the terms on the bond at 10 years. A…[Read more]

Wouldn’t the proceeds from the $80m bond be used to fund the construction? I imagine ticket prices will increase regardless, simply because demand for tickets is higher than the available supply, even after expansion (someone mentioned a waiting list of 22,000 tickets). But if construction is funded from the bond issuance, the cost shouldn’t be…[Read more]
