It is the rivalry. Fans of each school will question and probably hate anything that gives the rival school a real or perceived advantage. There are probably Utah fans who hate the Utah Hockey Club only because Ryan Smith owns it and brought it to Utah. I am a big fan of the Utah Hockey Club!

Everything should be on the table to at this point for a change. Utah has nothing to lose by trying something completely new. The way the season has gone most fans wouldn’t be surprised if Utah ends up 4-8.

I was one of the fans who wanted Barnes gone. At the time I think many of us, me included, assumed Rising would come back at full strength and do what he did in 2021 and 2022. How many Ute fans didn’t drink that kool-aid?

3rd time is the charm for the season? Utah hasn’t won a night game at RES yet this year.

Building a game plan around Huard might be a way to change things up but does it feel desperate at this point?

With a tiny improvement on offense Utah wouldn’t be in a 3 game losing streak. I am optimistic for the next 5 games.

The last two seasons with Cam were frustrating but he still won two Pac 12 championships and led Utah to two Rose Bowls. For me, he is up there as one of the best Utah qb’s of all time just for that.

At this point I am hopeful the offense can improve enough to win two more games and get bowl eligible to get the extra practices especially for Isaac as the future. That is where my expectations are.

It can’t get much worse than it was. I would think that Bajakian has been watching the way the season has gone, has seen things he would do but couldn’t because it isn’t his offense. Now that he is in over the offense, hopefully he will play to Isaac’s strengths. The offense won’t take that much improvement to make a huge difference in games.

Well said! I agree and feel optimistic about the rest of the season now that there is no question who QB1 is.

He brought an NHL team to Utah. I could care less how he dresses. As a hockey fan if the Utah Hockey Club wins a Stanley Cup before the Jazz win an NBA championship he can wear his hat however he wants.

Cam did great things for Utah but Utah needs to move on to the present and future players who are there. If the drama of 2023 and 2024 continues in 2025 the whole fan base might revolt.

I can see where you are coming from based on 2023 and 2024. I think we all feel that a little bit. I am trying to be positive and hope to see a better ending tonight than last time. I agree. He hasn’t played a full game in almost two years. They are better with him but he still might have some rust. If he plays and stays healthy the last few weeks of him not playing could pay dividends later in the season. Go UTES!

I think the team will come out a lot more fired up than against Arizona whether or not Rising plays. If that loss didn’t leave them with a bad taste in their mouth I don’t have a lot of hope for the rest for the season. I think it will be a good game.
