loyter replied to the topic U of U basketball bragged about finishing an average of 3 for the past 3-5 years in the forum Basketball (Men) 5 years, 8 months ago
Finishing top 3 is almost completely useless if;
1. Your RPI isn’t high enough for an at-large bid
2. You can’t win your first game in the PAC 12 tourney (3 years in a row now)The only thing those top 3 finishes show is consistent mediocrity. We’ve finished with an RPI between 75 and 125 those three years. The goal for an at-large bid is,…[Read more]

Imagine the collective local media orgasm if Jimmer accomplished anything like this. Meanwhile, zero mention of Delon’s achievements in the local rags. They are an embarrassment.

loyter replied to the topic Honestly, what is Jayce Johnson's target situation? in the forum Basketball (Men) 5 years, 8 months ago
Maybe he has a dream of playing in the NCAA and he knows that’s not within Larry’s realm of capability.

loyter replied to the topic 6 of 7 highest ranked recruits ever by Larry will be on the roster next year. in the forum Basketball (Men) 5 years, 8 months ago
He also needs to stop failing in the conference tournament. It’s been three straight years with a first round bye and three straight losses. He has such a poor record in big games, it’s almost expected that he’ll lose those games.

loyter replied to the topic Rylan Jones won Mr. Basketball for the state of Utah again in the forum Basketball (Men) 5 years, 8 months ago
I wouldn’t worry too much about his size. Brandon Taylor was like 5’7″, Bibbins was 5’8″.

Charles Jones isn’t going anywhere. He’s a senior next year. He’d lose his senior year of eligibility unless he goes as a graduate transfer.

Or, you could say that the decline happened right after they added Colorado and Utah.

Larry is like 2-14 against Altman all time – Oregon should terrify you.

loyter replied to the topic Big breasted in the forum Basketball (Men) 5 years, 9 months ago
It truly is weird to me that if a dude did this (especially a fat dude), it would be considered funny and everyone would laugh and move on.
I feel this is a very unfair double standard.

I hope she didn’t get arrested. Victimless fun. (By the way, if I was picking anybody in the crowd to do some flashing, she’d be near the top of the list.

By my count, Larry is 2-14 vs. Altman.

Ok, sorry, I was being too harsh. You guys aren’t dicks.
It just seems like a lot of trashing players going on here lately.

loyter replied to the topic Here's a weird stat: in the forum Basketball (Men) 5 years, 10 months ago
Man, you guys are a bunch of dicks. I’ve been critical, but at this time, the team is enjoying some pretty nice success – maybe you guys should try enjoying it too.
PVD is playing his role, and has done some nice things this year.
Jayce (who got trashed in another thread) is playing his role and averaging 10 rebounds per game.

loyter replied to the topic Utah’s place inside the PAC12 in the forum Football 5 years, 11 months ago
The PAC 12 is our family. It’s our job. It’s our business. If the business succeeds, we all win. Look at Vanderbilt. They are going to receive a $30 million payout this year. You think they are cheering for Oklahoma to beat the SEC team?
A rising tide lifts all ships. If the PAC tide rises, Utah wins.

Boise State plays in the MWC. They didn’t reap shit. Their bowl game paid out $1.2 million total. The Holiday bowl paid out $2.85 million.
Average revenue per school for MWC teams is about $1.6-3 million, depending on your source.
Average revenue per school for PAC teams is about $24-30 million. -

Not only did they do exactly that, but they did it with 12 seconds left in the game on 4th and 18! Come on.
Utah also ran that play, but it was when we were up 74-12 and it didn’t matter. Boise State’s was FAR more memorable. -
loyter replied to the topic Someone remind me why everyone hates Washington? in the forum Football 5 years, 11 months ago
This conference is the best thing that’s EVER happened to Utah. The money share Utah gets now is 10x or more what we used to get. Literally tens of millions of dollars pour into the U every year solely because of this conference affiliation. The PAC 12 is our bread and butter.
This is close to the dumbest comment I’ve ever seen.

loyter replied to the topic Someone remind me why everyone hates Washington? in the forum Football 5 years, 11 months ago
I really don’t. I think they were playing football. Had Utah done those things to their receiver, we’d have all thought it was fine. Remember Palko? Halladay?

loyter replied to the topic I think one play was the difference in the forum Football 5 years, 11 months ago
My opinion – everyone who catches balls on this team isn’t good enough. Not only do we not have stars (WRs, TEs, RBs) in the receiving corps, we have guys who aren’t even good enough to be called “serviceable”. How many games have been lost this year by receivers?
The first Washington game featured at least two receiver fumbles
The second…[Read more] - Load More
