I realize it’s portal season, but even after a tough year in many ways it’s nice to see a number of Utes make the (last ever) Pac-12 All-Conference teams!

Wow, that one is a surprise.

I believe I had read a report somewhere that said the coaching staff deemed him “Not Ready” to start the Colordado game, maybe he saw that as the writing on the wall.

The Utes and Rainbow Warriors of Hawaii face off at the Delta Center tonight.

Hawaii is undefeated, but no wins that seem all that impressive on the surface. Ranked 111 by KenPom, while the Utes are currently 38th.

Hoping we can build off of the St. Mary’s victory and get on a roll.

When that announcer started talking about it being a nice Quad 1 win for the Utes with like 3 minutes to go I knew St. Mary’s was about to start making shots. Terrifying ending, good win.

Yeah that was a good win! Not a very fun 2nd half to watch, but a good win. Impressed that the guards stepped up with Carlsen not having his best game.

Interesting thoughts from Whittingham on the Spence Checketts podcasts re: conference changes. Says he thinks conferences will likely change again in the next 2-5 years.

I’m on the opposite spectrum. Playing BYU in November on rivalry week was fun. The September games never felt quite the same to me.

Yes there will be more exposure to Zoobs, but it’s part of life. I’m just grateful we found a good conference that will hopefully allow us a shot to compete in the CFP if we do our part.

Seems like Big-12 is most likely at this point.

Also in here, Utah and Arizona State have "ramped up" talks with the Big 12.

Arizona State & Utah "showing interest" in the Big 12, sources told @ActionNetwork. Arizona has already applied for Big 12 membership, but Big 12 now "exploring its options" following news of Oregon & Washington leaving for Big Ten

Let’s not count our eggs before they hatch – I haven’t seen anything confirming Utah or ASU to the Big-12.

Hopefully it works out though. That would be an interesting football league, and may help basketball recruiting as well.

Hopefully the Utes end up in the Big-12. There would be some fun clashes of style and it could really boost our Texas recruiting.

I was living out of the country (mission) and didn’t follow the move to the Pac-12 in 2010. Was is this crazy? Because this is nuts.

IMO if AZ leaves but Oregon and Washington stay I would hope we add SDSU and SMU. I’m not as high on either Colorado State or either of the Tulane/Rice combo.

Sounds like a good chunk of the MWC and some additional schools have requested to join the PAC.

If the current 9 teams stay together and the PAC adds SMU, SDSU, and (insert other G5 team with a decent market), I think that conference would be decent.
