Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic I saw online that the time and network for the USC games has changed. in the forum Football 6 years, 1 month ago
They can’t bump an SEC game on ESPN at that time. The SEC has a tv contract with ESPN to broadcast their games in that time slot. Which is why the Pac-12 ESPN games are the late night slot or on ABC in the early afternoon.

Actually, Utah now controls their own destiny in the division. How do you know actually that they’re DEFINITELY going to lose, especially when Utah’s actually favored to win the rest of their games? I still think Utah’s going 10-2 (7-2). They’re that good and that talented. If Utah can win @ Stanford, they definitely can win @ UCLA, ASU, and…[Read more]

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Huntley has taken some flak lateley… in the forum Football 6 years, 1 month ago
When the offense plays like this, Utah’s basically unbeatable. Their defense is so good that it’s nearly impossible for teams to compete. Especially when they use half of the first quarter on ONE drive and score a touchdown at the end of it. Utah wins the time of possession almost every game, and if the offense is putting up points, it’s basically…[Read more]

Hopefully they set a new record for winning streaks this year because if they do, we’re winning the division.

Nice. I’ll wear my lucky Utah football sweatshirt under my Ute Proud tshirt.

I agree. Remember, this is the Arizona team who lost to BYU at home. Utah had better win convincingly or I’ll be pretty TO’d.

Stanford would be 9-3, not 8-4 if they go 7-2 in conference. They went 2-1 in non- conference play (wins vs. San Diego State and UC Davis, loss @ Notre Dame), which would make their record 9-3 (7-2).

Why shouldn’t Utah be favored against Oregon? Utah just dominated a team on the road who Oregon lost to at home? That’s right. That Stanford team we just beat won @ Oregon. You act like Oregon is this super team or something. They’re not.

Maybe because Utah’s pretty good?

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Awesome win! ….but let's see how they follow this up in the forum Football 6 years, 1 month ago
I still think Utah’s in for a special season this year. I really do think they’ve got what it takes to go 10-2. And ESPN’s FPI agrees with me because they’ve now got Utah as the favorite in every single remaining game.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic FGs are great, but prob not gonna get it done. Need TDs in the forum Football 6 years, 1 month ago
Without those three field goals they wouldn’t have had the lead in the fourth quarter before Huntley’s td pass to Nacua.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Great win tonight, however Stanford is made for Utah to win. in the forum Football 6 years, 1 month ago
Did you know that ESPN’s FPI actually has Utah favored in every single remaining game on their schedule? Not that it means anything, but with the amount of talent this team has, they really could go 10-2 (7-2) and win the Pac-12 South.

That’s called overreacting to a lucky win. That win at Wisconsin looks like a total fluke right now.

So the fact that the Utah guy didn’t actually block anybody in the back doesn’t matter? Under that line of thinking, any referee could call a penalty on virtually every single play if they wanted to, regardless of whether or not a foul actually occurred simply because they “assumed” something happened. Why is the referee given that type of power?…[Read more]

Am I the only one who thinks that it’s friggin ridiculous that they can’t review penalties? And that rule doesn’t even really apply because they actually CAN review penalties, namely, the targeting penalty. Why can’t they do this with other penalties? Especially when upon a simple review they’d see that the penalty they called CLEARLY wasn’t…[Read more]

It looks like a block in the back from the camera behind the play but if you look at the side angle you can CLEARLY see that Utah’s guy didn’t block their guy in the back.

Well, Bryce Love got injured against Notre Dame and might be out next week. Plus we’ll actually have our best defensive lineman the whole game against Stanford. Him being out hurt the defense in the first half.
