Some serious bullcrap going on out there. I think they hate David Collette.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Never really worried about us losing that game. Felt like in the forum Basketball (Men) 6 years, 8 months ago
Gotta love the refs fouling out both of our best two front court players and none of Oregon’s guys even in foul trouble. I seriously think that they have something against David Collette. That was an unbelievable performance on a bum ankle and yet he doesn’t get a chance at end because they fouled him out. Hard going five against eight.

And those great wins happen to be @ Kansas and vs. Xavier, who both won their conference regular season championships and are currently projected as #1 seeds. That’s why they are in right now.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Pac-12 RPI Ratings 3.4.18 —- We rise. in the forum Basketball (Men) 6 years, 8 months ago
Depends upon who the wins are against. If they are two wins against Oregon and USC? Yes, I think that might do it. However, if those two get upset by either of their lower-seeded opponents (the Washington schools), I don’t think we’d get much help. However, I am a firm believer that Utah makes the NCAA Tournament if they make the Pac-12 Championship Game.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Metu leaves his feet and Collette draws the contact in the forum Basketball (Men) 6 years, 9 months ago
Probably because they had no legs from playing an emotionally, physically draining game late Thursday night. Remember, USC had two days off between games. Utah didn’t. The schedule makers didn’t do Utah any favors.

Utah’s RPI also jumped to #43 after their win tonight. If they beat USC on Saturday, their RPI will probably jump into the 30’s because USC’s RPI is #35 right now. That’s NCAA Tournament at-large range. Assuming they beat Colorado next week, Utah likely would get the #2 seed in the Pac-12 Tournament. They’re making the NCAA Tournament this year.

It says 7 on ESPN.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic I’m proud of this team in the forum Basketball (Men) 6 years, 9 months ago
What do you mean that they won’t be going to the Big Dance? Their RPI is at 48 right now and if they were to win the remainder of their games they’d be right where they’d need to be RPI-wise. Also, there’s still the Pac-12 tournament, where hopefully they get another chance at Arizona. They’re barely halfway through their conference games and…[Read more]

You mean Eastern Washington.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Happily impressed with the MBB performance tonight in the forum Basketball (Men) 7 years ago
They were even better tonight against Ole Miss. Justin Bibbins had a huge game with 23 points. Utah looks better than they were last year.

If the Utes play like that in my games this year, they’re going to be an NCAA Tournament team.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic WSU vs Utah early forecast in the forum Football 7 years ago
So, it will be dark by the 2nd half essentially. Good. Hopefully the Utes can re-create some of the 2nd half magic they had against UCLA. #Pac-12afterdark

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Washington State opens at -1.5. in the forum Football 7 years ago
That’s because the game is AT Stanford. Stanford is undefeated at home. The winner of that game likely wins the Pac-12 North because Washington State still has to play us and AT Washington. If Stanford wins, they only have one more conference game (their rivalry game against Cal), but said game is also in Palo Alto. I wouldn’t be surprised at all…[Read more]

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Washington destroying Oregon. in the forum Football 7 years ago
That same WSU team got destroyed by both Arizona AND California. They are extremely beatable. They’re vulnerable on the road. Hell, 7 of their 8 wins have been at home. If Utah comes out with the fire against WSU that they had in the 2nd half against UCLA, I think we pull the upset.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic USC's upcoming P12 schedule: in the forum Football 7 years, 1 month ago
They could lose at ASU, who just beat Washington. Arizona also looks better now too. That was a good win for us. Other than that though, I agree they don’t lose.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Watching Stanford, this sticks out to me: in the forum Football 7 years, 1 month ago
Well, thank god they had an entire week off to get healthy. They’ll be fine. Don’t forget that we have Stanford’s number. The advantages they have over other teams don’t exist against us (size and strength on the line). They haven’t beat us since the mid-1990’s. We’ll be ready.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic It pisses me off how close our games vs FBYU-P are. in the forum Football 7 years, 1 month ago
I’m pissed off that you care so much about frigging margin of victory and not the fact that we won AT ALL. Does anybody care that Washington State only beat USC by three points? Or do they care that they just beat USC AT ALL?!?! Why can’t winning AT ALL be good enough for you people? Margin if victory is IRRELEVANT. ALL THAT MATTERS IS WINNING AND…[Read more]

You know Utah plays all these teams too right? If we beat them, doesn’t that make US the best team?

Utah is arguably more dominant over BYU right now than the Boogers were at any point in the 1980’s. Why do we continue to play this game again?
