Only helps the Utes if they take care of their own business.

And don’t look now, but Stanford is going toe-to-toe right now with Arizona @ Arizona.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Thoughts on the Stanford game and this team after a day of cooling off. in the forum Basketball (Men) 7 years, 9 months ago
Well, we lost to Cal and Stanford on the road last year too, and we have EXACTLY THE SAME RECORD THROUGH 11 CONFERENCE GAMES AS LAST YEAR (6-5). Remember, last year’s only went 13-5 in Pac-12 play because they won their last 7 conference games. Is that likely this year? Probably not. But don’t give up hope with the Utes yet. All you naysayers…[Read more]

IMO, both games are going to be blow outs, and Utah blew out both teams on the road by an average of 31.5 points per game.

We lost to them over there last year too, and yet the Utes still turned it around and won 13 conference games. The season isn’t over yet.

Utah does have a 4-star center commit named Branden Carlson (from Bingham High) coming in next year:

I’d prefer Barefield to start. He’s the better offensive player but Zamora’s the better defender.

I doubt that. I think that Barefield takes over Bonam’s starting spot next year. Mabye Zamora comes off the bench in favor of Tillman?

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Cooper Bateman will be joining the team! in the forum Football 7 years, 9 months ago
I’d like Jalen Hurts to start for Utah. By the way, if Bateman does come in and play QB, and somehow win the job, do you guys think that means that either Troy Williams or Tyler Huntley red-shirts this season?

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Good to see a 30 point lead go to nothing. in the forum Basketball (Men) 7 years, 10 months ago
Ya think? Just a bit. That game seemed closer at the end than it really was because of a coaching tactical error. Maybe this will teach Larry that you need to make the opponent quit and not just assume that it’s over because you have a huge lead. Nothing is guaranteed in life and you have to go take it.

Not to mention the fact that Oregon has actually NEVER WON IN BOULDER. It’s their kryptonite.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic When you have a huge lead you force the other team to throw the white flag in the forum Basketball (Men) 7 years, 10 months ago
I agree. They took out the starters WAY TOO FREAKING EARLY. They should have waited for about 3 to 4 more minutes. You haven’t won until the clock reads 0:00. That should have been a 30+ point victory, but Krystkowiak make a clear tactical era by calling off the dogs too early.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Greatest flop of all time in the forum Basketball (Men) 7 years, 10 months ago
It should be a technical. It’s a technical in the NBA to do that, and it should be in college as well. Oh, and Dillan Brooks is a douche bag. I think I dislike him more than LeBron James.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic I thoroughly enjoy beating Washington in the forum Basketball (Men) 7 years, 10 months ago
As do I. Let’s complete the sweep of those jerks on Thursday. Oregon’s on a 16-game winning streak, and I’m sick of losing to those bastards. We played well enough to win @ Arizona but just couldn’t break that glass ceiling. We should have beaten UCLA but fell just short of the upset. I’m feeling that the Utes finally break through on Thursday and…[Read more]

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Thoughts on tonight's USC game? in the forum Basketball (Men) 7 years, 10 months ago
If Utah goes 2-0 this week, not only will they officially be on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament, they would probably jump into the Top 25 of the polls. Utah would have two straight wins over Top 25 opponents, one of which is in the Top 5 (#4 UCLA), while they would also be 13-4 overall (4-1 Pac-12). That record coupled with back-to-back Top 25…[Read more]
