If Utah goes 2-0 this week, not only will they officially be on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament, they will jump into the Top 25 of the polls. Utah would have two straight wins over Top 25 opponents, one of which is in the Top 5 (#4 UCLA), while they would be 13-4 overall (4-1 Pac-12). That record coupled with back-to-back Top 25 (one a Top 5)…[Read more]

Utah was also without Dave Collette for that game, and he would have made a big difference. The same would have been true against Xavier.

Well, we STILL are without Sedrick Barefield and David Collette, who both are likely starters. I think that it is kinda hard to judge this team until those two are eligible.

The Big Ten would have sent a better opponent in most years, but they didn’t this year because they got four teams into NY6 bowls. If this were a typical Big Ten season, we likely would be facing Iowa or Minnesota in this game. But due to the Big Ten getting four NY6 bids, everybody in their bowl pecking order got bumped up a few slots, just like…[Read more]

They had better not pull a UCLA from last year and lose to a bad Big Ten team.

But there’s no way in hell that they are going to win @ Ohio State without their starting QB. Penn State likely is going to win the Big Ten East now because they only have to win @ Rutgers and home vs. Michigan State, which look like almost locks at this point. Ohio State could go 11-1 two years in a row and STILL not win their division. However,…[Read more]

Yep. UCLA also used to play games in the Coliseum. They moved to the Rose Bowl in 1982.

If anybody wants to do it, I know my parents’ Comcast information and they can use that to login to watch the games. But it must be discreet.

I heard that Jason Thompson, who is Chase Hansen’s back up at strong safety, was taking the emergency, third-string snaps at QB in practice. I’m not too worried about the situation. When was the last time that Utah used more than two QB’s in a season on a consistent basis? Yes, Chase Hansen got some garbage snaps at QB last year when we were…[Read more]

We also didn’t finished ranked in our first Pac-12 season (2011). Though we did finish 8-5 and won the Sun Bowl, we weren’t anywhere close to being ranked at the end of the season. Athlon doesn’t have a clue what they are talking about here. The Utes did finish 23rd in the Coaches’ Poll after 2010 though (lost to Boise State in the Las Vegas…[Read more]
