Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic College Game Day in SLC on the 19th? in the forum Football 5 years, 1 month ago
I just noticed that too. If Pedo State loses @ Iowa, they’d drop in the polls. Both of Utah and ASU might be ranked higher than both teams in the Penn State-Michigan game. Of course, both of us and ASU (who plays Wazzu) would have to win and Penn State would have to lose first.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Man, the rest of our schedule is filled with games we should win in the forum Football 5 years, 1 month ago
Cal’s back up QB is Devin Modster. Utah’s already played against him before. He transferred to Cal from UCLA. Utah faced him two years ago in Salt Lake. The game where Utah won 48-17. He was UCLA’s starting QB that day. He sucked then. He sucks now. The Arizona State game is also a revenge game for Utah, as the Scum Devils ended Tyler Huntley’s…[Read more]

When isn’t the forecast rain in Oregon? Does it ever actually stop raining there? Sounds like a depressing place to live really.

And not having Zack Moss.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic I think we may be underestimating just how bad in the forum Football 5 years, 1 month ago
Yeah. People seem to forget that Moss didn’t play the majority of the USC game. His loss in that game is basically the reason why Utah lost that game. It totally changed everything. IMO, Utah would be undefeated right now if Zack didn’t go down to injury at USC.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic The illegal shift that wasn't. in the forum Football 5 years, 1 month ago
Wazzu didn’t let UCLA beat them twice. It was simply the fact that Utah was the far superior team who played the much better game that got the Cougars beat. If Washington State was a better team, they wouldn’t have gotten beat by Utah that badly.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Bye week got me like.. in the forum Football 5 years, 1 month ago
Well, what is there to really talk about? There is no opponent this week to talk about, and there’s no doom and gloom to wallow in because Utah dominated last Saturday.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Who do we want to win between TDS and USC? in the forum Football 5 years, 2 months ago
I would agree, but in this case, it doesn’t actually hurt or help Utah because we beat BYU already. A win by BYU just makes our win over them look better. It’s a strength of schedule wash.

It doesn’t matter to me

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Who do we want to win between TDS and USC? in the forum Football 5 years, 2 months ago
It’s irrelevant, because then we might have a win over a ranked BYU team. Well, at least BYU would be if they beat USC and Washington.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic Go Armand Shyne in the forum Football 5 years, 2 months ago
It’s obvious though why he transferred. It was for playing time, because Utah has Zack Moss. And Zack Moss is not human. Had Zack decided to go to the NFL though, Shyne probably would have stayed because he’d have been the featured back this year. It is what it is and it seems to have worked out for both guys. Once a Ute always a Ute.

Matthew Thomas Castleton replied to the topic One thing that made me extremely happy last night… in the forum Football 5 years, 2 months ago
Agreed. That’s the reason why it happened. The run-pass option play causes that to happen because the offensive line blocks like they’re running (blowing up guys to create space for the RB), but instead the QB pulls up and passes while his O-linemen are down the field blowing up guys in their run blocking scheme, causing the ineligible receiver…[Read more]

Matthew Thomas Castleton started the topic Could Utah get College GameDay this year again? in the forum Football 5 years, 2 months ago
There’s one week I have in mind: vs. Washington State on September 28th. If both teams were to win out until then, I think it could happen. Going by preseason rankings, Utah-Wazzu would be one of two possible ranked vs. ranked match ups that week (the other is Ohio State @ Nebraska). However, Nebraska could be out of the rankings by that point in…[Read more]

USC could be in for a game tonight. Fresno State won the Mountain West last year and they beat Arizona State in the Vegas Bowl last year.
