Huge win. Utah’s still on track to finish with a better conference record than they had last year. If they win their final three games, this season will have been a definite success. 12-6 in conference play is a damn good year. Hell, in the two years the Utes made the NCAA Tournament under Krystkowiak, they only won 13 conference games.

If Utah wins, they’ll either be in sole possession of 4th place, or in sole possession of 3rd place if Arizona loses @ UCLA tonight. This is due to Washington’s win @ Oregon State. If you look @ the updated conference standings, you’d see that Utah is actually now ahead of Oregon State.

I like Jace Johnson because he gives superior effort every single game. He shark provides tough interior defense. Yes, his offensive game is not there yet and his free throw shooting is just awful. However, you can tell that he’s been working hard to improve both areas.

I would argue that making bowl games is far easier to do than to make the NCAA Tournament. Utah had an NCAA Tournament-level team last season. They just didn’t have the resume to merit inclusion. I second this. I went to the U and it was far cheaper than anywhere else i could have gone because it was in state. Also, tuition when i went there was determined by how many credit hours you took per semester. It was on average about 2000 for me. Good luck.

I agree about Utah’s defense being improved. They even showed that against Washington Thursday night (they held UW to only 69 points). It’s just that the Huskies’ defense was even better. I actually think that Utah is not that bad of a team. Both of their conference losses were against probably the top two teams in the league right now (Arizona is 13-4 (4-0) and Washington is 12-4 (3-0)).
