Yep, even in the 80s. Few games were nationally televised back then, but if they were, tv dictated the kickoff time. I had season tickets in newly expanded Cougar Stadium in 1982 and for years the games started at 1:30 pm. Then later in the early 90s they moved it to Noon. Night games were rare for BYU.

The top 5 conferences are guaranteed a playoff team. The big 12 will get a minimum of 1 playoff team, unless you beleivethey will drop below both the MW and AAC. You can’t be that dumb to believe that.

This BYU season reminds me of Utahs season in 2008, where it took 3 major miracles to beat TCU, Oregon State and one other I am forgetting.

Not nearly as dominant as 2004, but every imaginal break went their way. As opposed to byu’s 9-4 season I. 2016. Lost 4 games by a total of 7 points.

That would be the dumbest thing any school has EVER done. To willingly go from P4 to a shitty conference that will be worse than both AAC and MW and maybe even Sun Belt. Amazingly stupid thing to even think about.

I loved the games from 1979, 1980, 1981, and 1983. 27-0, 56-6, 56-28, 56-7. Some of those Ute teams were not bad like 81. We dominated even in crappy seasons like 1986.
