Yeah that was hard to watch, but I agree with those that say that Houston is very good so not to read too much into last night. That said… Hofstra and Jackson State outscored us against Houston. They did beat TCU and OSU pretty handily too, but not nearly as bad as we got embarrassed.
My biggest issue with Craig, besides recruiting, is the…[Read more]

Absolutely, also if you have the patience and/or skill to resync often, I like to rewind and watch any of the TV filler content during the commercials on a timeout. Then I can always catch up and resync when the game is back on. So it’s kind of the best of both worlds because the TV usually has some interesting special interest stuff on past…[Read more]

Just an FYI though for anyone attempting this maneuver, it doesn’t happen often, probably only happened to me a handful of times that I can recall, but if the radio is ahead of the TV you are screwed. That is the kiss of death because there is no way that I found to pause the radio (I didn’t try purchasing a radio app like iHeart). I didn’t…[Read more]

Dang, I think I just hit on an idea, the more games you attend, you get preference points that allow you to buy better seats for less money, or opportunities for upgrades maybe… I’m not sure how exactly that might work, but reward folks for being there seems like a good idea.
Maybe Season Ticket Holders could get some sort of tiered discount…[Read more]

If you’ve ever been bumped up to first class, undoubtedly you were sitting among some folks that paid for that privilege. Strangely, everyone still seems happy 😛

All I do is just start the radio feed, then you’ll quickly see that the TV is about 15-30sec ahead (typically although it can be as much as almost a minute). So you watch the play, and un-pause it as Bill’s play by play or the sounds matches the game.
Depending on the venue, sometimes you can hear the ball hit the rim on a FT, or usually you…[Read more]

RE best announcers to call the game
I know you said you are old, but I’m in my mid 50s, so I am also somewhat old. So if you are old old, then maybe disregard (for example I wouldn’t recommend this to my parents who struggle just to put their cell phone on speaker mode). But if you are just regular old like me, meaning you have a smart phone…[Read more]

ESPN+ is way cheaper than buying DishNetwork just to have the awful low quality poor distribution Pac12 Network. I know it’s great to be on regular TV, but given that we are a long way from commanding regular TV spots, I for one am ecstatic about being on ESPN+.

Minnesota Ute replied to the topic Kevin Young acting like a little bitch in the forum Basketball (Men) 2 days, 23 hours ago
That’s just dumb, if you watch the game the foul count was virtually equal until the end of the game where the intentional fouling started. It was 26 to 17 PF, and Lawson & Ezra shot a combined 19 FT (making just 9). Then you had Hunters 4 FT and Dawes 2 (again making just half), so clearly the 1) the fouls went that way not because of the refs…[Read more]

It is certainly arguable that Mason could be taking some more minutes in the guard line, but you hit the nail on the head, we just don’t have that solid guard to anchor the line-up so why not go with the bigger lineups. Our options at guard are really a combination of “pick your poison” and “let’s roll the dice to see who’s hot”.

Keanu def underutilized (IMO), which is why I’m harping on it.
On the other side, Gabe it could be argued is grossly over utilized. But then you look at Miro & Hunter, and think meh, good to see Mike being increasingly utilized. Beyond him the other guards are a toss up. It does make more sense that Craig is using Wahlin more frequently as a…[Read more]

I hear ya, good point. And to this point in the season, the BPM looks like this:
Keanu: 8.2
Lawson: 7.8
Wahlin: 5.2
Mason: 5.2
Mongo: 5.3
Gabe: 3.3
Ezra: 2.2
Miro: 2.1
Hunter: 1.9
Keller: 0.7And the DBPM still has Jake, Laswon, Mongo, & Keanu in the top 4 spots, but Mason and Gabe fall down the list and Miro & Hunter jump up.
So my question…[Read more]

I largely agree with your thoughts with this exception:
Ezra started timid in the first half but came alive in the second, true.
Keanu stands around that’s why he isn’t playing, false.See the irony? Ezra played 31 min and Keanu played 11. For the first half, Ezra didn’t do shit but in the second half, he got in the flow and blew up. Somewhere…[Read more]

ahem… Keanu is a 69% (27/39) FT shooter.. worst…? really…
Caleb 31% (yeah you heard that right) 5/16
Keller 40% 4/10
Lovering 42% 23/54
Mongo Mike 50% 9/15
Ezra 60% 59/98 (he has actually really improved, at least he got above 50%)
Jake 64% 16/25
Mason 66% 6/9 (pretty small sample)He’s basically the same as Miro who is 27/38 (71%), and…[Read more]

Yeah, as someone who has been a manager for 30 years now, I always consider that there is information that goes into decisions that aren’t evident to those on the outside looking in. So my biggest hope is that it all makes sense to Keanu and he is good with how the season has progressed.
I just know how hard it was for my son. I’ve probably…[Read more]
