89ute replied to the topic Receivers Coach Taylor Stubblefield Is Gone – Who's Next? in the forum Football 8 years, 11 months ago
I don’t think there will be any more changes. Scalley tweeted no changes in defense and I doubt anyone on the offensive staff gets hired away. Troy Williams and Tyler Huntley signed on with the understanding that Arod would be the coach. I’m excited about these two guys and I suspect things are going to just keep rolling along.

89ute replied to the topic Kalani Sitake in the forum Football 8 years, 11 months ago
New boss same as the old boss. He’s going to struggle like any first time coach with first time coordinators. He will be outcoached by every P5 team next year and the year after. The Sitake hire just kicks the can a little further down the road in terms of BYU hitting rock bottom. If Sitake is successful, meaning 8-10 wins (well after his…[Read more]

89ute replied to the topic What does a 4-star recruit for CA, TX, or FL think about this stupid 'Holy War'? in the forum Football 8 years, 11 months ago
Why are you under the impression this game is being treated as a big deal? I think there is practically no hype around this game. The amount of hype is on par with our matchup with CSU last year. Pretty much none.

Michigan State for me. But now that we’re a P5 it’s kind of dwindled. This goes back quite a few years for me, back when they were clearly second fiddle to Michigan, which was one of the things I liked about them. The underdog. I also think their logo is almost as cool as ours.

89ute replied to the topic Which season ended the worst Baylor or Utah? in the forum Football 8 years, 11 months ago
Baylor didn’t just lose their QB, they lost THREE OF THEM! I’ve been hating on Baylor all year but I am jaw dropping impressed with their QB depth. They did not miss a beat as they went from one QB to another until they hit their 4th guy, who is actually a WR. By this point, which was late in the 1st quarter yesterday, all the 4th string QB did…[Read more]

Yes I’m serious. I’m responding to “this kid is ready for the heavy lifting” and the fact that THEeyepatch didn’t watch the game. Otherwise, I agree with you. Joe cannot do “the heavy lifting” and I think you are making the same point.

Without getting into all the minutia, I feel certain we are at least going to the Sun matched up against an ACC team.

I like this Williams kid, I’ll miss Booker but Williams is ready to reload at RB I think it’s safe to say. 187 yds on 34 att for a 5.5 average, this kid is ready for the heavy lifting. Even busting a 64 yard run. I like what I see.
I think after you watch the game you might change your opinion on this. Joe Williams was beaten to hell. He had…[Read more]

Even losing all of our LBs, I just can’t see calling the defense a rebuild.
Every other year we replace one record-breaking RB with another. I’m more concerned with linebacker than I am with running back.
We have another Aussie punter coming who came from Pro Kick Austrailia, the same place Hackett came from. Punt team should at least be…[Read more]

with Whittingham. There, I said it.
We are moving in the right direction. We moved from the top of the bottom third to bottom of the top third in 5 years. Whitt built the defense first, no big surprise here. Then special teams.
I think he knew talent was only going to trickle in once we took the step up. Our recruiting bears that out. We…[Read more]

89ute replied to the topic Without Booker, how do these next two games go? in the forum Football 9 years ago
Not only is Joe faster than Booker, Joe hits the hole MUCH MUCH faster than Booker. Booker approaches the line a little slower and lets the blocking develop. I’m not saying one way is better than another, just different. I don’t think the offense is going to look any different.
As far as Joe’s ability to pick up the blitz? There was only one…[Read more]

89ute started the topic If the Big12 gets into the playoffs, I propose we play no P5s OOC. in the forum Football 9 years ago
Oklahoma State – let say they win out, they will have only played 9 P5s. Their OOC schedule is a complete joke.
Baylor – See above, plus they have 1 loss.
Oklahoma – a little better, still one loss but only played 10 P5s. OOC win against Tennessee.
TCI – same as Oklahoma. OOC win against Minnesota.
The national consensus is that the Pac-12…[Read more]

89ute replied to the topic Random musings an hour after the game. in the forum Football 9 years ago
The thought of getting to the college playoff is absurd in my mind. Even before our loss last night. Winning the south and getting to the championship game is probably the ceiling for this team. We do not have the depth to contend for a championship. Depth on offense is in okay shape but that is our weakest unit. Defense is where we win and…[Read more]

Now that I think about it, I only assume he’s still the center. I stopped noticing after the first few plays. Which is exactly what should happen, shouldn’t even notice.
