If you compare the starting 22, Utah’s O-line averages about 5 pounds more per player; … The Cats Dline on average is a little bigger than Utah’s, as are the linebackers. … and so I really don’t know what his observation was based on.
I watched Michigan, Iowa and Ohio St.
NW Dline all wear number in the 90s. 99 is out, he was a 292lb slow…[Read more]

Not at all. We’re fine with Shelley, Shyne, Green and Dixon. Bernard for Chase. Let me had another hawt take. I doubt they score any points on our defense. That’s how lopsided I think it is.

When you watch Northwestern what immediately jumps out at you is their lack of size and speed. At first glance it would be easy to think we’re going to mop the field with these little dudes and … we probably will.
Given their lack of size and speed, they play exactly like a service academy. So much so, they look like one. Take away the cut…[Read more]

Coaching!!! I think most college football coaches would be jr. high and high school gym teachers as opposed to titans of industry leading and or building a highly successful business. If Meyer and Sabin were not coaches, they would be highly compensated leaders/visionaries elsewhere. Dan Hawkins? No.
I’m not knocking the profession of gym…[Read more]

89ute replied to the topic Utah ranked #16 in the country with players on opening day NFL rosters in 2017 in the forum Football 6 years, 3 months ago
A nation champion has never and will never be built this way. I know you’re not asking why we are not national champions but I’m leading with that to make my point. Every national champion has had a rock solid roster of at least 45 four and five star recruits. We don’t get that level of raw talent, so it must be built. Building talent leaves…[Read more]

Bear
No Rose Bowl wins since the 80s, very few 10 win seasons in their history. UCLA is not a football factory and never will be. Football will never be a high enough priority to do anything more than what they have always been. New boss, same as the old boss.

89ute replied to the topic Great article on Jackson Barton – commentors breaks down the line by position in the forum Football 6 years, 4 months ago
but now he needs to add some nastiness
This has been my concern from the moment he set foot on RES turf. I think this is something you either have or don’t have. I’ve never seen “nasty” out of him … ever. But, Cody has turned things around, maybe Jackson can too. I’d love to confuse him with John Cullen or Garett Bolles this year.

We are very far from one of the most experienced OLs in the country (90th of 130) and we are 10th in the Pac-12. We have a lot of returning starters but we have relatively few starts.

We lost it on bars and beam. Tessen fell on bars and Lee only put up a 9.775. Burch fell on beam and Stover only put up a 9.775. Those were our 1st two rotations. UCLA’s first two were vault and bars. They did poorly. Even with this, we had a decent lead after the first two roations but we had an opportunity to put them away early and…[Read more]

Not going to pretend I know anything about anything but something is better than nothing, and when it comes to practice observations, we seem to get more nothing than anything else.
It’s hard to observe at ground level and from the sideline. You can only see the guys right in front of you and any plays to the other side of the field you can’t…[Read more]

I thought for sure we were going to see back to back 10s on floor. Actually, we did. Skinner threw up an 11 actually!
I’m hearing she is disliked/hated by judges. Where is this coming from? Why? I don’t want to take away from Makenna’s 10, but Skinner’s routine blew MaKenna’s out of the water.
I saw on twitter that Skinner was being…[Read more]

It seemed to me that the scores for Cal on floor were inflated. Cal performed outstandingly, especially on bars. They were doing things I’ve never seen before. No way in hell can I tell you what it was, but it was unique. I really enjoyed watching it. In the end, Cal probably deserved it (the win) and I’m not bitter but I knew that last…[Read more]

Chip Kelley will have UCLA maximizing their talent. Herm Edwards makes the Devils a wild card.
Something is fundamentally flawed at UCLA and I’m not a believer in Chip until he proves it. If I had to call it now, I’d say it’s going to be Charlie Weiss II. UCLA is one of the few teams we have a winning record against, even though they are as…[Read more]
