The humidity in Big12 country is no joke. Nothing takes a toll like humidity. Just like sea level teams playing at high elevation is no joke. Both are an effective home field advantage.

As you probably already know, last month SI and other outlets reported Phil Knight pledged “unlimited NIL support” to Oregon football. Unlimited financial resources is difficult to overcome for any program competing against Oregon for recruits. If he lands at Utah — he’ll really, really want to be at Utah.

But it’s terrific news for baseball and softball student athletes. It’s a significant increase in scholarships and they become head count sports now. All scholarships are at 100 percent. Basketball and volleyball get a modest increase in scholarships as well.

Between college football and college baseball I probably watch close to 100 games a year. When in season they’re on almost all the time even as background noise. In the rough and tumble world of college athletics, you gotta have thick skin and a short memory for these things. I have no opinion on his abilities, but, if the staff thinks he can help make us better, then we should reach out.

Watching Utah Syracuse lacrosse right now. We never , ever get lacrosse on P12N. Can watch softball, baseball, tennis, swimming, soccer etc all on E+. The access to Utah athletics on E+ will be miles and miles ahead of P12. This isn’t even a close call.

I’d like to see the Einer Nielsen Fieldhouse transformed into something like the Wrigley Rooftops.

Is he a graduate transfer? If so, can’t blame a guy that wants to finish his career at home with a few extra dollars in his pocket. I’d bolt too so my parents could see my last year as a college player.
