well, I personally think DJ Foster with Jalen Strong was the best 1-2 punch i’ve seen in a long time. DJ is now at running back and they don’t have that much depth at the WR position.

but i do think booker needs 150 + yards for us to win. i lack confidence in our pass game and don’t expect much.

Jayce Johnson – 4 star recruit. Saw him play a few times in LA. Doesn’t have the greatest footwork, a bit slow, mid range shooting is not good. But he fills the void inside the paint.

his mechanics looked awful. throwing on his back foot 1/3 of the time. he was anxious half the time in the pocket when he had the most time in all the games I’ve ever seen. booker and the defense won this game.

i have a love/hate with LA. the sports scene is lacking; UCLA/USC fans are a little different from Ute fans. i fly fish in salt water because that’s all we have. people are obnoxious and the traffic is horrendous. public transportation is for weirdos.

but i can’t live in Utah either.

there is logic to that. these analysis have to pick their top 10 based on the body of work thus far. it’s not about the season, but about what they’ve done.

Actually, we couldn’t ask for a better played out situation then what really happened; ‘furd beats usc, usc beats asu, asu beats ucla, and arizona falls apart. i don’t think it really matters now. we just need to control what’s on our plate. the gods have been nice.

I actually make the trek to SLC every home game. But let me know if you guys get a USC tail gate going. Would love to connect with local utes.

Charlie Strong won’t get fired after this season. If anything, he might try and get out himself before the inevitable happens (but then that forfeits his lucrative out clause). The word is that the booster are still behind him.

He did have top 10 recruiting class.

It was indeed a lower score then expected (62 total points, and expected was 72). I think due mostly to Wazzu’s defense improving drastically (Cal’s defense got better too). But that’s the point – You stop the run game and their air raid is not as effective. Exactly what Wazzu did.

Good point westslope. If you look at halftime of the cal game, they only had 28 rushing yards. People often forget that CAL still relies on a rushing game. Sonny wants 200-250 yards per game. When you shut that part of the game, it creates more pressure for goff.
