Nothing personal, but if the staff thinks they should limit him, when possible, to 25 carries a game, I’m going to go ahead and bet that they know what they’re doing and are trying to preserve his health. The wear and tear of more carries is likely not sustainable for the entire season.

Note that the draw play late in the game with Mitchell on 3rd down was just to center the ball for Becker

He played, but they did a good job of shutting down out TE’s

That no call when Money took a knee was inexcusable. Otherwise they were pretty decent.

Agreed. I mean replace a LB for a Safety if you need to, but beyond that, play the D that sniffled them all day long.

I’ll never understand why coach speak bothers fans. If our program was struggling or cheating or up to no good, I would understand. But we’re winning, we’re successful, etc.. so who cares?

Is it safe to assume King is going to be redshirting this year, since I haven’t seen him play yet? He’s a talent, so I’m hoping that is the case.

Wilson’s numbers would be better if it weren’t for the 4 or 6 drops. He zips the balls and the receivers were caught off guard.

I think Saturday told us the throw game is key. The first two drives where we tried to establish the run showed us that. It didn’t help that everyone in the country knew we were going to run it. But even still, it wasn’t until Lud let Wilson start throwing the ball that the game opened up. Cam or Wilson, it doesn’t matter. We have to open…[Read more]

That’s directly due to the give and take nature of our D. We pressured Barnes a ton, when you do that, WR will be open somewhere on the field. The idea being that if you get to the QB bf he can get rid of the ball, it won’t matter who is open. Works a lot of the time, but not every time.

Honestly Proud, as long as we have been around, I’m surprised you’re not just enjoying the ride. During the game, that is impossible to do. But as each season comes and goes, I’m just glad the Utes are where they are and the Kyle is at the helm as that assures us success at this point.
Best wishes

Unpopular opinion, but Maddox is not that good. Very overhyped IMHO. But Say La Vee, as they say in Erda

I was out of the country Saturday, but I heard from a lot of Utah fans and a few BYU fans on how bad Wilson looked. When I got home yesterday I watched the game. I was surprised to be frank. Yea, he’s no Cam, yet. But he didn’t look that bad. Definitely looked nervous and made a few interesting throws, but his reads were there (as far and you…[Read more]

All good ones. On Rising, after that first qtr in the COVID year, I though he looked horrible and was not excited for him to come back. Glad I was wrong.
My additions to yours….
Paul Kruger. Played QB in HS, was stabbed, then proceeded to be one of the best DE’s in school history and played a lot of years in the NFL.
Steve Smith. While…[Read more]

Tony,
I just want to reach out and thank you for this site. I recently decided to check out a previous Ute related site that I used to frequent. While they have made a ton of upgrades, it isn’t UteHub. I just really like the layout, the readability and the general feel.
Thanks!!

I would add that defenses started to figure out the spread and it was no longer as prolific. You have to adjust and they have.

Sanders is an egotistical moron who believe his own press, or bans it if he doesn’t like it. Is anyone actually surprised by this?

Roy nailed it, and our AD and President were at the front of that line. Clearly over their head but acting like they knew what they were doing.
