That’s directly due to the give and take nature of our D. We pressured Barnes a ton, when you do that, WR will be open somewhere on the field. The idea being that if you get to the QB bf he can get rid of the ball, it won’t matter who is open. Works a lot of the time, but not every time.

Honestly Proud, as long as we have been around, I’m surprised you’re not just enjoying the ride. During the game, that is impossible to do. But as each season comes and goes, I’m just glad the Utes are where they are and the Kyle is at the helm as that assures us success at this point.
Best wishes

Unpopular opinion, but Maddox is not that good. Very overhyped IMHO. But Say La Vee, as they say in Erda

pedro replied to the topic Let's give Wilson a chance in the forum Football 3 months, 2 weeks ago
I was out of the country Saturday, but I heard from a lot of Utah fans and a few BYU fans on how bad Wilson looked. When I got home yesterday I watched the game. I was surprised to be frank. Yea, he’s no Cam, yet. But he didn’t look that bad. Definitely looked nervous and made a few interesting throws, but his reads were there (as far and you…[Read more]

All good ones. On Rising, after that first qtr in the COVID year, I though he looked horrible and was not excited for him to come back. Glad I was wrong.
My additions to yours….
Paul Kruger. Played QB in HS, was stabbed, then proceeded to be one of the best DE’s in school history and played a lot of years in the NFL.
Steve Smith. While…[Read more]

Tony,
I just want to reach out and thank you for this site. I recently decided to check out a previous Ute related site that I used to frequent. While they have made a ton of upgrades, it isn’t UteHub. I just really like the layout, the readability and the general feel.
Thanks!!

Interesting he’s listed as a WR (which is awesome BTW) but not under Special Teams. Hmmmmm…..

I would add that defenses started to figure out the spread and it was no longer as prolific. You have to adjust and they have.

Sanders is an egotistical moron who believe his own press, or bans it if he doesn’t like it. Is anyone actually surprised by this?

Roy nailed it, and our AD and President were at the front of that line. Clearly over their head but acting like they knew what they were doing.

I agree with your assessment. To me, the best combination is a DE who has a motor (O’Toole, Fillinger) w/ LB’s that can make good reads. BUT the LB’s are the key to to it all. Barton and Reid are good, but what worries me is who is behind them, as we know the LB room needs to be deep. How good are their back ups and making the right reads and…[Read more]

I agree. King proved himself last year with limited ops. His blocking, route running, catchings skills will suffice.

pedro replied to the topic Honest question: Urban Meyer hate? in the forum Football 7 months, 1 week ago
For me, it is not a strong hate, but I dislike the way he handled leaving Utah. We all knew he was going to bolt, so it wasn’t the disappointment that he left. It was the constant denial by him and Shelly literally right up until it was announced that pissed me off. IOW’s, the complete lack of integrity. Otherwise, I think he is a hell of a…[Read more]
