Been a rough year for the Aggies.

I’ll definitely be at the Houston game, but may be able to swing the Oklahoma St game as well.

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic Am I the only one that would love to see a Utah-Colorado rivalry flourish? in the forum Football 5 months ago
You’re not the only one. I would very much prefer the Buffaloes to the zoobs. With CU, the “winner takes all”. With ybu-p, it doesn’t matter who wins, because ybu-p declares themselves the better team anyway. The zoobs are the worst, and the less affiliated with them we are, the better. Let them ride some other program’s coattails. The can…[Read more]

I kinda got the impression that John Kurtz at Kansas St had been a trash-talking whiney little bitch, who’s still butt-hurt that Utah would have preferred to stay in the Pac-10 (before it all fell apart) than join the Hateful 8.

Time to bring Pat Hill back from retirement! He’s still alive, and younger than John Robinson when he’d decided to get back into coaching at UNLV.

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic Pac-12 Bowl Tie-Ins in the forum Football 5 months, 1 week ago
The Pac-12’s top bowl game is the Alamo Bowl, but per that article, the Alamo Bowl may now choose any team they want, regardless of record, just so like as they’re bowl eligible. So that means a 6-6 USC team can get in ahead of an 11-1 “4 corners” school.

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic Seeing talk about FSU and Clemson being courted by the Big 12. in the forum Football 5 months, 1 week ago
Correct you are CCU. The ACC makes more money, and with the exceptions of the Stanford & Cal additions, won’t have to travel all over the country.
North Carolina, Clemson, Florida St, and/or Miami will leave the ACC to join the BigTen, or the SEC. In no other circumstance will they leave.
They’re not coming to Big 12.

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic New approach to Fall Camp being taken this year in the forum Football 5 months, 1 week ago
I absolutely hate seeing FCS teams on our schedule. They’re always too overmatched to show us anything about our team. I’d prefer seeing us playing midmajors in CA, TX, and FL, or UNLV, Colorado St, Army, or Navy.
But if we absolutely MUST schedule an FCS opponent, it should be ala SEC style, where they stick them in November, to serve as a…[Read more]

Phil Steele is projecting the Ga Tech transfer (Johnson) to start opposite of Vaughn. Michigan-transfer Calhoun will likely take the field in 3 receiver sets, when not subbing in.

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic Cam Rising getting under BYU fans' skin. in the forum They So Poo Poo 5 months, 1 week ago
Rising never played ybu, but then again, neither had you. Rising was on the sidelines back in 2021, so if sitting in the stands qualifies you to want Utah to whoop somebody’s ass, then I’d guess someone who’d suited up on the sidelines in the actual game has bit more claim to it.

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic ACC realignment news coming soon according to Josh Pate in the forum Football 5 months, 1 week ago
Utah is the only Big 12 team who’d not locked into the league for 99-yrs. How would the ACC do a “best of the rest” if UNC, Clem, Miami, and Fla St leave, and they can’t add any Big 12 schools except Utah?
Personally, my preference — in order — would be (1) Utah in the BigTen, (2) Utah in the SEC, (3) Utah in a “best of the rest” league, and…[Read more]

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic U of U leaders got it right with our stadium in the forum Football 5 months, 1 week ago
The average BigTen school’s stadium is over 72K. I would think that if we had the means, we should expand to somewhere in the range of 65-70K in order to remain an attractive option. If the decision were made today, Utah would be the BigTen’s top “Big 12” team. But by that time, we could risk losing out to Ariz, Ariz St, and/or Colorado. All…[Read more]

Why are we talking about a new OC? What’s wrong with keeping Ludwig? Did I miss some announcement that Ludwig will retire when Whittingham does? Do he and Scalley not get along?

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic College Football Addiction's TJ Pittinger on Utah to the B1G in the forum Football 5 months, 2 weeks ago
Must’ve been painful for him to hear how much respect Utah gets all across the country.
It’s obvious Toll knows how badly the Big 12 NEEDS Utah in the league, and how reluctant Utah appears to be to stay in the Big 12. Toll is a “Baylor” guy, so he’s well aware of how frequently, and easily they’ve been abused by bigger programs (re: Texas,…[Read more]

I think he’d be a good fit for Utah St. Plus, if he’d be willing to take the HC job at Weber St, why would he turn his nose up at the Utah St job?

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic Utah vs BYU Predictions in the forum Football 5 months, 3 weeks ago
Whittingham won’t run up the score on Sitake. Plus, historically, once he has a comfortable 4th-Qtr lead, he stops playing the game, and starts playing the clock. He’d rather have time consuming 1st-Downs than TDs.

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic Utah football and BYU basketball. in the forum Football 5 months, 3 weeks ago
To be clear, I wasn’t suggesting Utah is a powerhouse basketball school. We’re not. Not since Majerus left anyway. All I’m saying is, if we’re not a basketball power, and we’d have a better basketball resume than the tdS, the zoobs can’t stake any claims to being a basketball powerhouse either.
